No filters or effects, this image is made up of many layers of colour mapped out with the pen tool on photoshop.

wow dude. That looks awesome. I would say that the bulk of the hair isn't detailed enough. You made lots of effot around the head area but the bulk of the hair is flat and could have been explanded a little more.

The hair, however, is deliberately undetailed. I like the expanse of black contrasting the whiteness of her skin!
