Hello mate, really lovin the sky in this one, really dark and brooding. The halo kinda spoils it for me though, around the standing stone.
Some questions for ya:
Is ISO 2oo the lowest on your camera?
Are you shooting hand-held, or tripod mounted?
Why wide open? (if hand-held that kinda explains it, but you should be using your tripod... )
For me, i would've stopped down to at least F8, probably F22 (no idea what your camera can handle though tbh), exposed for the sky, and used fill flash for the stones.
A multi exposure image can work well, but you have to put a lot of time in with the layer mask to avoid the halo.
Is your noise caused by under exposure? I can't speak for the Fuji, but i wouldn't expect ANY noise at ISO200 unless the image was under exposed, and i had to bring it out with the software.

Yup the halo...mmmm a side effect of my tweaking with 'shadows & highlights'. Couldn't get rid so left it in - hoping no-one would notice!
Right ho questions:
1) ISO goes 80 to 1600 - and yeah I really wasn't concentrating!
2) Shooting a bit of both, pending on my state of botheredness.
3) I should be using my tripod!
4) Unbelievably my camera only goes to F11 - which I am very disappointed with - although I have a ND4 filter which when I actually remember to use it may help. Like the idea of exposing for the sky then filling in with flash for the stone. Mmmm....my mind was probably on other things that day. When you consider was out from 9am and didn't see civilization til we got our dinner at 8pm - I really should have more photos to show for the time spent out.
Thanks for your much valued hints tho, I do appreciate it - I need more practice.
Cheers Scottie!

Don't we all... Need more practice that is. My camera's been in the boot of my car since i came down to Newquay, and i can't remember the last time i took a photo!?!
Mmmm the idea of not seeing any civilization sounds wonderful, it's been so long since i've been out in the woolly wilds.

still good, i've actually grown to not mind noise that much in photos, but its probably best for landscapey shots to not have it i spose

He he! Still getting to grips with my Fuji, so I've had noise issues with the majority of my shots. This one has had quite a bit of post processing just to get it to a half decent quality.
