Already on Tumblr. Please don't repost.So a few scenes of the new HTTYD movie were showed at Annecy, and someone described what was shown HERE . Of course, I had to draw the last clip of Hiccup laying back on Toothless. It just made me think of Hitchups and all their saddle/airborne shenanigans.
Aaaah, bromance.
So Hiccup is frustrated, maybe by his dad, and then I think his mommy in disguise swoops down and kidnaps him.

This may be a long shot, but I remember seeing a picture of a woman named Valka who will be mentioned in the movie. It just makes me wonder if maybe the mysterious dragon rider isn't Hiccup's mother, but Valka is. I mean, if I heard correctly, Hiccup's mother is named Vahallarama right? What if she changed her name to Valka to keep out of sight and, with her own sense of compassion, saved the dragons from becoming slaves to the Dragon Rider? This is just a thought that I had, but it could make sense........right?

Valka isΒ the mysterious dragon rider! Β It's the same character. Β So she's like this wild dragon rider who releases trapped dragons and kidnaps Hiccup. Β And many fans think that Valka is the movie's version of Valhallarama - i.e. his mother. Β She's never named in the movies so it's possible she has a different name there. Or that she's operating under a new name. Β So yeah, it can make sense.

I thought it may be her. But I looked at the site that you mentioned in the A/N and now that I looked at the eyes that are on the head of the mysterious rider, they do look the same. But what I don't get is with the whole controlling the dragons and when the rider does something with toothless, making him fall over, is it the dragon trapper who is the enemy or is it Valka ? Cause I remember reading something about Hiccup and toothless having to face some human-dragon hybrid that is leading a war of some kind. I forget what the article is from, but it's something I read a while back.

Actually Drago is the real enemy. Β The Dragon Trapper is kind of a misled enemy-turned-frienemy. Β And who knows what's happening with Valka. She's a vigilante character so far.

huh, well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. But I wonder when the next trailer is coming out? That's what's bugging me. That teaser trailer is just ......not enough! I hope dreamworks comes out with another trailer soon....

or the next dreamworks movie, which i think is the new Mr. Peabody and Sherman movie said to come out next spring.... unless there's another dreamworks movie coming out this fall.....

I mean, if you look at the picture that is given www.youknowwhaaa.com/wp-conten⦠(I do not own this btw it belongs to whoever uploaded it) She has the same color eyes as Hiccup, she is skinny like him, her hair is close to his hair color if not it, the armor she wears is somewhat simular in the arm wraps, and, most importantly, she is said to save dragons, much like how Hiccup saved Toothless. It could be a possiblity, but it's a long shot I think.

You can see it in his face and jaws especially, how much rounder it is now: he's definitely filled out from his old days.
It may seem that it's just the clothes accentuating his muscles but, well, he didn't *have* any muscles before; and that's what sticks out.
Pull up a screencap from the first movie and compared it to this: there is definitely growth there, but who's complaining? probably not Astrid

Lol⦠you know that's just my realistic drawing style, right? XD (well, compared to an animated movie's style). I'm still drawing him rather thin. But I do base him off of those HTTYD2 leaks I saw.

Well, he's thin relatively speaking. There is only so far you can realistically go with the small body frame that he has, and I prefer him having lean muscle then bulking out. Flying about and living a more rigorous lifestyle will harden him, but only so much; it fits him better like this.

I think they are awesome. I think that people forget that he is a character sometimes(I blame the TV show) you really captured him well though. Its awesome

And wouldn't that be cool if it actually was his mom? I remember having a theory that she was still alive back when the first one came out, seeing as they didn't mention HOW she died (in fact, I don't remember them using the word(s) "dead" or "died"), just....not there. It's totally possible!

heh heh ya only semi. I'm not in love with the new designs and huge changes DreamWorks has done to them. I mean ya I love HTTYD and all (one of my fave cartoons) but the second one sorta isn't what I was planning. But your sketches are amazing can't wait for more

Not to toss off anyone faves but I think Astrid's new design looks like an Eskimo person. I like Hiccup's new design, and haven't really seen the others new designs so I can't say anything about theirs yet. I'm jealous of your drawing skills though I can't even draw people

Haha, awww, I thought Astrid looked cute. The animation gave her a weirdly round head and narrow eyes, but I'm sure that'll all smooth out. I loved the fur-hood addition. XD
