Hiccup, you can't smile when you're playing possum.So, I'm making up for scarring everyone last time with some nice, good old-fashioned cannon.
I feel like I need to tell you that these are Hiccup and Astrid; the more I look at this the more I frown. Their positions made so much more sense when I had my chin on the table and was drawing this at eye level :/
Maybe I'll try again later with some more sensible positions.
Sorry about Astrid's weird sausage fingers. I've never drawn hands at that angle before.
But I do think I'm getting better at under-chin angles!
I'm definately getting better at drawing man nipples!

Don't be so hard on yourself- you're picking up these aspects well and I like how you challenge yourself to learn new angles and views.
Your Astrid actually looks more realistic to me than the movie version- not as perfect and therefore, to me, more beautiful and charming. Hiccup, of course, is as gorgeous as ever, meeting my daily beefcake quota of guys who actually look like real guys and not a body builder.

Thanks! I was really pleased with how Hiccup came out (and I'm sure you've seen *ch4rms color version, where he looks fantastic). I am seeing the improvement as well, which makes me really hopeful for whatever fruit future inspirations bear.

Yes, the color version was gorgeous. You two would actually make a great team on a project with your naturalistic bodies and the believable emotions and your sense of humor with her amazing coloring skills- and she has great character development as well.
