Description
So, my mom and I have done a lot of work on our genealogy project, and we've uncovered a lot of new information about a lot of people in our family trees. That, and my decision that a lot of my old OC reference sheets could really use a redesign, inspired me to go back and redo a lot of my Assassin's Creed OC reference sheets, starting with one of the earliest ancestors of mine I know of, Arbogast.
------------
Name: Arbogast Spaenhauer
Birth: 1555, Muttenz, Switzerland
Death: unknown
Allegiance: Assassins
Bio: The Spainhowers have been (for the most part) proud members of the Assassin brotherhood for generations and generations, and Arbogast Spaenhauer was no exception. Born into the brotherhood during it's golden age, Arbogast lived and breathed the Assassin life, trying to live up to the example that the great Ezio Auditore da Firenze had set decades prior.
While Italy remained the Assassins’ main base of operations throughout the Renaissance, the rest of the Mediterranean area had continued to play their parts in the war against the Templars, including Arbogast’s home country of Switzerland. In the 1570s, Arbogast and his fellow Assassins carried out missions throughout Europe, though mainly in Switzerland, Germany, and Italy, guarding against the tyrannical Templars who sought to gain power.
The Templars’ newest plan backfired on them, however. They had planned to spread the Renaissance’s influence throughout Europe, creating a new era of writing and culture, hoping to control it all from behind the curtain. This went wrong when the people of Europe (with some encouragement from Arbogast and his brethren) started creating literature and art of their own desire and design, inspiring a new sense of freedom in the area. The Assassins gained more of an influence over the continent than the Templars, leading the latter to look on a different place, westward, to the newly discovered lands of America, for their dominance. Needless to say, the Assassins would follow them there as well.
Arbogast eventually had a son in 1578, Arbogast Jr., who was also raised into the brotherhood. The two would often travel across the continent, hunting down Templars and occasionally looking for Pieces of Eden. On one mission, the two were sent to find a Staff of Eden located in a temple underneath a small Swiss town. They uncovered the Staff, which projected bizarre images of what the two could only describe as angels of the Lord. The historical records for Arbogast Sr. end right around there, but it is known that his son raised a family of his own and died in Switzerland in 1631.
