Eyyy wasgood it's ma birthday, time for my arbitrarily once a year self-indulgence. I'm very bad at this, and I… really wish I was in a better headspace to celebrate It's been rough, like really rough. My mental health is at an ATL, as Bo Burnham puts it. The reason there was such a gap between this upload and the last is because I spent about a week pumping my demons into some vent art, which originally I intended to post, but then I took in the finished product and realized that yeesh, it's probably too dark. Idk I guess I have seen objectively freakier images on the internet before. Maybe I'm just biased because this is the type of shit I have to run from in my chronic night terrors every night. I guess if you guys really want to see it, I can still upload it. I just didn't think it'd be appropriate to just drop on everyone when you're here for funny history content. Like I said, I'm very bad at making things about me, but hey today's the one day of the year that's actually about me, so let's put all that aside for now and talk about this birthday gift to myself.

Design notes, so all of my friends’ OCs have some kind of suped up ultimate form or maxed out armor set ready for the final boss, and I decided you know what, it's about time I get a cool outfit for my persona too XD What occasion could I possibly need this for? Fuck if I know, but it gave me an opportunity to experiment with some more tactical style stuff. I love a woman in uniform~ I'd much prefer if someone loved this woman, but I guess I can settle for someone loving the uniform for now. Obviously I once again leaned into the Swiss Guard aesthetic. Y'all know I love me the Swiss Guard, and polearms. Hmmmyes gimme that delicious halberd. Ever since it was pointed out to me that bayonet rifles are functionally just spears, my imagination has had a field day when designing modern characters. Look at her, she's so sexy, and the gun is too. Wacka wacka.

Above all else though, I'm really damn proud of how those wings came out. They were heavily inspired by modern ornithopters, which have been my favorite thing ever since I discovered their existence. Like fuck jet packs and turbin engines or whatever, these wings get to have their cake and eat it too by looking decorative and functional. They're just so damn sleek, which is to be expected out of something designed from biomimicry. PigeonBot and SmartBird in particular were heavily referenced. The shapes ended up cooperating really well together and created this very tactical airforce-ass aesthetic which I was aiming for. Overall, everything came together really well and I'm very happy with the end result, and I'm not just saying that because it's the one day of the year I'm allowed to toot my own horn. Happy birthday to me lol, now I'm off to PopCon, and hopefully I'll be coming home with some cool new toys to play with.
