Description
Name: Chelsea Patterson
Born: November 26, 1995; Greenwood, Indiana
Allegiance: Assassins
Bio: Chelsea was born the only daughter of the leader of the Hoosier sect of the Assassin Brotherhood, Angie Stagge. However, Chelsea wasn't introduced to the Brotherhood until their home was attacked by the mad Templar Daniel Cross in 2002. Chelsea was unharmed and her mother fought the intruder off, but it left an impact on the young girl. She was told all about the Assassins and her future as one, and thus her training began there. She was mentored under her mother and another Assassin named Hannah Mueller, the latter of which tragically died in 2011 after a confrontation with Cross. Already extremely emotionally unstable due to bullies from school, the loss of her mentor pushed her over the edge and led her to attempt suicide. The attempt thankfully failed, and she woke up in the hospital to see the horrified and tearful faces of her loved ones. Seeing the pain she had caused by almost taking her life, both to herself and the people she loved, she vowed to change her ways and seek out help. She also vowed to protect those who suffered from depression and suicide so that no one would ever have to feel that pain again.
Chelsea continued her Assassin career with a better outlook on life and new destinations to go to. In New York in 2012, she teamed up with her friend Ben Dylan and his new recruit Ruby Mills for a mission. She ended up crossing paths with the insane daughter of Hoosier Grand Master Natasha Wolfgang, Jess. Chelsea stabbed her and believed her dead but would find out later that this was not the case. In 2013, she worked with her mother's cousin Tim to help him regain custody of his sons Carter and Braden from the clutches of their abusive Templar mother. They eventually succeeded in October, and the boys were put in safe hands. The Templars later tried to ambush Chelsea and Carter to take him back, but Chelsea fought them off and took Carter to the safety of the hideout. From there, she told him all about the Assassins and their fight to liberate Indianapolis from the Templars, and after much consideration, Carter joined her side in the Brotherhood.
Over the next two years, the cousins and their friends worked to take out all the major Templar players in Indianapolis one by one. By January 2015, the Order was practically extinct in the city. Carter hunted down his last target: Grand Master Natasha Wolfgang, and fell into a trap where he was forced to confront his mother. The two had a tough and vicious battle that ended in Carter's victory, though he spared her, forcing her to wallow in her defeat since he knew that was a fate worse than death for her. He proceeded to walk out the building, find Natasha Wolfgang cornered in a warehouse, and assassinate her, freeing his city once and for all. Needless to say, Carter and his friends celebrated spectacularly that day.
Carter's only future interactions with his mother were during the visitations that were later assigned by the court. His mother, tired from defeat and on the edge of excommunication for her corruption, passed a mission file she had been working on for years to her son, thinking he might have better luck than she did. There was only one word on the file: “Prophetstown”, and that was what Carter began his next journey with. He and Chelsea continued to clean up the last scraps of Templar activity in Indianapolis, and in November 2015, Carter recruited his best friend, Jacob Singer, into the Brotherhood after rescuing him from the Templars. Three other friends joined the Hoosier group in December, when Chelsea called on her friends, Ben, Ruby, and their new recruit Ava Arlie, for help with the Prophetstown case. They explained that they had discovered a Precursor Temple underneath the old Shawnee settlement of Prophetstown via Ava's genetic memories, and that in order to find the Key to unlock it, Carter had to use the Animus to explore the memories of his ancestor: Priscilla Abbott, and so he took up the mission.
Between his Animus sessions, Carter continued his Indianapolis adventures in the modern day. During his many confrontations with Abstergo and the Blume Corporation, Carter encountered his new big enemy: Jessica Wolfgang, the psychotic brainwashed daughter of Natasha Wolfgang out for revenge. However, Carter realized during their many encounters that it was not of her own volition, and that deep down she wanted no part in the Order that had abused her her whole life. He continuously tried to break through her mental wall of fear and oppression, but never could. Things weren't so good on the other side of the spectrum either. Jacob, after helping Carter and friends claim a Staff of Eden from the Templars, was slowly being corrupted by the artifact’s power. By spring 2016, he had lost his mind and stolen the Staff for himself, using it on an already mentally fragile Ava and making her Bleeding Effect trauma ten times worse. Jacob fled after the ensuing fight, and the next few weeks were spent on a hopeless moping around the hideout. Eventually Carter got the emotional boost he needed from his friends at school to return to the Animus and find the Key to the Prophetstown Temple. He located the Key thankfully, but there was still one final obstacle before he could go claim it: Jacob had made his way to the top of the Chase Tower in downtown Indy and was using its power to try and annihilate the city. Realizing he had no choice but to fight his best friend before any innocent lives were hurt, Carter rushed downtown as fast as possible. He was stopped along the way by a broken Jess, whom he fought and defeated and offered one last chance to change herself and help the Assassins win this fight. Jess finally gave in and accepted her true self, and helped her new friends defeat Jacob and save the city.
Carter, Jess, and Chelsea then went to recover the Temple Key, and just as they did, they got a phone call from Ben panicking and saying that Ava had gone into a coma from how bad her Bleeding Effect trauma was. The gang rushed back to the hideout, and discovered that it was true. Once again, the place was filled with a depressingly quiet atmosphere as they all monitored Ava and hoped she'd wake up. Carter, while taking a walk downtown, started having Bleeding Effect episodes of his own, triggered by his severe depression episodes. He faded in and out of the Civil War, and the flashes only stopped when Jess came along and gave him his lost hope back. Ava would awaken 3 weeks later, explaining that she had gone on a soul-searching journey in the Animus while in he coma, and that now she knows what they need to do, and she eagerly told them they still have a mission to complete.
