Bio: Ava was born in Raleigh (though grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota) to a Lakota mother and a father whom she had no memories of, as he had disappeared from her life when she was only four. She was raised by her loving mother Kiki and her grandmother Wanbli. They taught her the ways of their culture, raised her to aspire to follow her dreams, and did their best to save up for her college funds. The money wasn't quite enough though, and so Ava took a year off from education after she graduated high school in order to get a job and earn the money she needed for university. She scored a job as a clerk at Abstergo Industries in her birth town of Raleigh, and it was at this job that she met the many people who would change her life forever, especially her best friend, Ben Dylan. In October 2015 though, her life was flipped upside down. She accidentally stumbled across some top secret documents relating to “Project Roanoke”, and the next night she found herself kidnapped. She awoke in a strange dark room, being held captive by Abstergo as they forced her into an Animus in order to find a Piece of Eden that her Croatoan ancestor Kahente had come in contact with during her time on Roanoke Island. She was ultimately rescued by Ben and his friend Rebecca, who revealed themselves to be Assassins, an ancient sect devoted to protecting freedom and peace. After they escaped and destroyed the Roanoke artifact, Ava volunteered to join the Assassins in their fight against their mortal enemies, the Templars.

In late November, Ben took Ava to Montreal, where she met Ruby Mills, who became her close friend and eventual lover. They hooked her up to another Animus to train her via the Bleeding Effect. While exploring the memories of her Shawnee-Canadian ancestor from the War of 1812, Aveza Deryn, Ben received a call from their agent in Indianapolis, Chelsea Patterson, informing him that she and her cousin Carter had a lead on a highly powerful Piece of Eden known as the Armor of Gabriel somewhere near what was once Prophetstown, Indiana. Ava thus continued all the way through Aveza’s wartime adventures until her ancestor stumbled across the temple housing the Armor. Inside was a holographic message from the archangel Gabriel himself, warning Ava of a huge threat to the universe that only she could stop. Once the session was over, Ruby's computer flooded with information telling her that their next stop had to be Indianapolis, and so the gang packed up and met up with Chelsea and Carter in their hometown.

Ruby informed the two cousins that their ancestor, Priscilla Abbott, was the last person to hold the key to Gabriel's Temple, and so Carter was hooked up to an Animus to explore her memories in order to find said key. Meanwhile, Ava was also put back into the Animus. The data that flooded Ruby's computer also contained the memories of her Indonesian ancestor, Apsarini Rajawali. However, as the weeks and months went on, Ava began to experience severe Bleeding Effect symptoms, and her mental state slowly but surely fell into disarray. The stress of her condition ultimately became too much for her to handle. In a fit of rage and pain, she told her friends that she was done with the Assassins, that once she finished Apsarini’s memories, she'd quit the Brotherhood and go back home to her mom in Minnesota. She never had the chance to, however. Her final session with Apsarini ended with her mental state shattering completely and sending her into a deep deep coma. Her friends had no choice but to keep her inside the Animus and monitor her vitals as they tried to figure out what to do. When Ava next opened her eyes, she was surprised to find herself in a place she had never seen before.
