Description
June 15, 2016; Lyme Regis, United KingdomTheir plane landed in London late that night, and from there it was a three hour drive to get to Lyme Regis.
“You've got the directions laid out, right Ruby?” Ava asked as the team carefully navigated the cliffs.
“Yep! Got the location of the Scythe all mapped out right here!”
“You're holding it right side up this time right?” Ben joked.
“Yes Ben. If you'd like I could also show you which way my fist is.”
The two laughed at each other and continued with the group. Ava had her Eagle Vision activated just in case, hoping to see the Scythe through the rocks that her ancestor had covered it up with over a century ago.
And low and behold, there it was, buried deep in the cliffside, just waiting for them to dig it out. Ava smiled and grabbed one of the shovels. “Welp,” she said to her friends. “No time to waste. Let's get digging!”
The team got right to work, all of them chipping away at the stone and soil. The waves had eroded away much of the original cover, making it a much easier dig than the one Evelyn had made with her family. Nonetheless, it wasn't exactly the fastest process in the world.
But after a while of effort and sweating, they finally struck gold. The glowing radiance of the Scythe shined through the cracks in the ground like a rising sun. Ava quickly tossed her shovel aside and finished the last bit of the job with her hands. She gripped the hilt of the weapon tight, and with a little help from Ben, she yanked it out at last. She held it aloft for the whole team to see.
Jacob oohed, probably the most interested in it. He tapped his fingers against his leg and took a step back, clearing his throat. “Uh, yeah. That is definitely the scythe. I don't think I should be allowed to go near it, so I'll just be… over there.” He turned away, looking back at the scythe, and retreated a short distance. As he backed up, he lost his footing on the cliffside. He almost fell down into the waves, but Jess quickly caught him and hoisted him back to stable ground.
“Don't worry man, we won't let you try to blow up a city again,” she laughed.
“There's only two places this Scythe is going,” Ava said. “My hands, and Lucy's heart.”
“That's good. That's good.” Jacob was a little shaken up, but he stepped back into the group, standing behind Chelsea and Carter.
“Come on, let's get back to London so that we can hop on the next plane home. That armor’s been waiting for me for 75000 years.”
The others nodded, and with the Scythe in their possession, they carefully made their way back topside to their van, ready to finally fulfil their destiny that's been milennia in the making.

June 16, 2016; Battle Ground, Indiana
“Heyo Gabriel!” Ava called out once they made it back to the Temple of the Angels. “We got you a souvenir from Lyme Regis!” She smiled and held up the Scythe for the archangel to see once his hologram emerged from the ground. He smiled as bright as she did, almost jumping with glee.
“Sweet!” he exclaimed. “You did it! You all did it! I knew you could do it. I literally did the math.”
“Can you give the girl her damn suit now?” Chelsea asked.
“What's the magic word?”
“I just got off a 10 hour plane ride and I'm cranky.”
“Close enough!”
Gabriel turned around to face the laser gate that had sheltered his Armor from any contact with the outside world for tens of thousands of years. He held up his hands, and there was a sort of beeping noise resonating throughout the temple, and then the lights of the defensive wall slowly flickered out. The rims of the stairwell leading up to the Armor lit up, prompting Ava to move forward and claim her reward after all these long months.
“It's all yours, kiddo,” Gabriel said, moving aside. “Time to make your dad proud.”
Ava smiled and nodded, and she began to make her way up the stairs. The golden glow of the Armor reflected off of her golden eagle eyes as she came closer and closer. The front panels of the Armor opened up to let her in. Ava carefully backed into it, slipping on the pant legs and sleeves. She could feel the gauntlets adjusting to fit her form. The chestplate started closing back up, form-fitting itself as well, until the centerpiece finally clicked into place and glowed it's bright white.
Ava stepped down from the platform, smiling as she looked herself over. She looked at her friends, who smiled back.
“You look awesome, Champ!” Ruby said, patting her on the shoulder.
“Anyone else thinking Iron Man? Or is it just me.” Jacob said, his arms crossed as he gave her the once over.
“How do you do the wings?” Carter asked.
“Umm…” Ava said, sticking her tongue in her cheek.
“Pretty much just think it,” Gabriel said, though his voice wasn't coming from the hologram, which had vanished. It seemed to be coming from the suit itself.
“Hey sweet she's even got her own Jarvis.” Carter laughed to Jacob.
“Well now we know where Stan got the idea,” Jacob joked back. He was more interested now, though, stepping forward. “Neural link, Gabe? So it's already mapping her thoughts?”
“What do you think this is? A sci-fi movie?” Gabriel quipped.
“You're the armor, not me” He smiled. “Heck, if she can handle it, she doesn't even need you, really.”
“I mean moral support is always nice,” Ava laughed. “So I just gotta…”
She closed her eyes and concentrated, and sure enough, the wings ejected out the sides of the compartment on her back. They glowed and hummed, ready for takeoff at a moment's notice.
“Okay even I have to admit that's pretty cool,” Kiki said, smiling weakly.
“I want my stick,” Jacob mumbled, earning him a quick slap on the back of the head from Chelsea. “Ow.”
Ava retracted her wings and pulled up her hood over her eyes, grabbing the Scythe as she did.
“Alright. Only one thing left to do,” she said. “We gear up, hunt down Lucy, and we end this once and for all.”
“I know where he's going,” Gabriel said. “I can send Ruby the coordinates.”
“Awesome!”
There was another series of beeping sounds, and Ruby's tablet suddenly started glowing gold on the table. Once it stopped, she picked it up and looked the screen over.
“...oh you've got to be kidding me,” she said.
“What?” Ben asked. “Where is it?”
Ruby turned to look at him.
“Roanoke.”

June 16, 2016; Roanoke Island
“Just like my dad,” Ava chuckled as the team walked through the forests. “Hiding stuff from Lucy in the first place he looked.”
“How is it every time we've been to this island, it was to destroy some Precursor stuff in one way or another?” Ben laughed.
“I still can't believe you blew stuff up without inviting me!” Ruby said.
“You were busy in Montreal,” Chelsea said.
“Yeah because he told me to have the Animus ready! If I knew we were gonna blow stuff up I would've been down there myself instead of Rebecca!”
“Well hey, now everyone's here to stab the Devil,” Jess said. “Fun times!”
“I call dibs on stabbing him in the dick,” Jacob said, wiping one of his knives on his pants.
“What about you, soccer mom?” Carter asked, looking over his shoulder at Kiki, who was the farthest behind.
“I'm here as backup,” she said.
“Really mom?” Ava said. “After all our talks you're still staying on the sidelines?”
“Hey, I'm not the one with the super-powered wingsuit.”
“Fair enough.”
The team trudged on, following Ruby's map as they wandered around the woods. Eventually they started to hear rustling in the distance, and the sounds of what Ava could only describe as excavation noises. Jacob narrowed his eyes and ran towards the noise, pushing past Ruby. He had his pistol already out. Chelsea held him back though, putting her hand on his shoulder and dragging him to the bushes with the rest of the team.
Ava peaked out of the foliage, looking down into the short valley below. She gasped at what she saw. There was in fact an excavation going on, with dozens of workers and guards surrounding a large nearby cave. But the most eye-catching detail was what all the goons were covered in: a dark red pulsing slime of sorts. Their eyes were all blank, and all of their movements were practically zombie-like.
Carter's jaw dropped. “Oh my god…” he gasped. “That's the same demon ooze that Patricia Cassidy was experimenting with when I killed her!”
“Looks like Lucy has a much more stable control over his minions than Cassidy did,” Chelsea observed.
“I mean he is the Devil,” Jess said. “Demons are kinda his thing.”
“Looks like Carnage down there.” Jacob said.
“How are we gonna sneak past them?” Ben asked.
“Do we have to sneak? We can get into the Temple, right? Shouldn’t the security take them out for us?” Jacob suggested.
“If Lucy isn't out here it means he's already inside and deactivating all the traps,” Ava said. “All of these guys are probably just padding to keep us away.” She put her finger on her chin. “We need some kind of distraction.”
“Want me to dress in drag and do the hula?” Carter suggested, earning him a back-of-the-head slap from Chelsea.
“Well… Any of you got any bombs?” Jacob asked. “Or grenades? Or should I just shoot the gas tank on one of those machines?”
“I've got this one,” Kiki said, standing up from the back.
“Mom?” Ava asked.
“Sweetie, as soon as I go down there, you all run into the cave as fast as you can okay?”
“Mom what are you-?”
“I'm gonna play my part, honey. Something I should've been doing the past 16 years.”
She reached into her shoulder bag, and suddenly pulled out a short-barreled shotgun, already loaded up with the first round. Ava watched, speechless.
“Your mom is awesome,” Jess laughed to Ava.
Kiki smiled. “What, did you think she got it from her father?”
She lumbered down the hill, promoting the rest of the team to circle around towards the cave entrance. She held her gun high above her head and blasted a deafening shot into the air. The guards immediately turned to her in unison.
“Hey slimebags!” she said. “I'm here to avenge my husband. Which one of you wants to be the first bitch ass on my list?”
The guards started shrieking inhuman noises in alarm and they immediately charged in her direction. The air was immediately filled with the ringing of shotgun shells smacking into slimy flesh. They came one by one, and Kiki mowed them down one by one. Ava watched her mom raise hell from afar, wishing her good luck as she and the team snuck into the cave entrance while the guards were preoccupied.
The temple halls were jagged and layered with dozens of platforms. The crew snuck down into the dark depths as stealthily as they could, though they did have to assassinate the occasional demon minion that got too close for comfort. It wasn't long before the tell-tale glow of isu hieroglyphics started bathing their surroundings in an ominous red as they carried on.
“Did you have to make this place so creepy?” Ava asked Gabriel.
“Yes. Yes we did,” Gabriel quipped.
“Could've at least put some curtains up.”
Suddenly Ben shushed them both. The team found themselves on a balcony that overlooked a massive chamber below, one that only seemed to house two things at its center. One was a suit of angel armor, decaying and cracked, glowing a malicious red in contrast to the heavenly gold of Gabriel's suit. The other figure was standing in front of the suit, prying it open with his bare, pale hands, grinning ear to ear as the maw welcomed him inside.
Ava gasped, and she immediately motioned for the others to follow her down. She ejected her wings and used them to hover down off the balcony, the thud of her landing echoing across the chamber, making it very clear who had just arrived on the scene.
Lucifer didn't turn around at first. He simply stood there with his hands on his wingsuit. Ava could practically feel his toothy grin through the back of his head.
“Well damn, I'm surprised you made it this far,” he called back to them. “Gotta admit, when I first set out to do this whole plan, I expected it to be over pretty quickly. I had so many opportunities over the millennia to break free and destroy this world. And yet somehow, here I am at the last possible chance. You really worked hard, didn't you Gabriel?”
Gabriel didn't respond, though Ava stepped forward, her palm blaster starting to charge up.
“It's over Lucifer-”
“It's over Lucifer,” Lucy mockingly parroted. “Come on kid, I know you can come up with better material than that.”
“Fine, we'll just jump straight to the ass-kicking!”
She let out a blast from her palm, but Lucifer suddenly spun around, lifting his hand. Reality was crackling around the glowing triangle he held, and the blast simply disappeared into the cracks. He smiled at all of them.
“I haven't even gotten to suit up yet and you're already tossing lasers at me!” he said. “And I thought I was rude.”
“You haven’t played too fair with us,” Jacob said, joining the others behind Ava. “And I mean, you are ‘The Devil’, Lucy.”
“Guilty as charged!” Lucy said, spreading his arms. “I see you managed to crawl back to your friends after all, eh Singer? How's that bitch treating you?”
“We're both gonna make you our bitch,” Chelsea declared.
“What she said!” Carter said. Jess promptly patted him on the shoulder as if to say “you tried”.
“She’s actually pretty okay,” Jacob said to Lucifer. “Although she’ll never measure up to punching you in the dick.” He smiled widely. “That is going to be repeated multiple times in the next 5 minutes.”
“Well I must admit, you all really have me at a disadvantage here,” Lucy said dryly. “I mean seven against one and I haven't even gotten to suit up yet.” He grinned maliciously. The cracks around his hand started growing larger and larger, a hole in spacetime ripping apart around the Pick. “How about we even the odds a bit?”
Jacob let out a small whine. “Guys? I wanna go home now. I don’t wanna dimension hop today.”
“What's the matter kids?” Lucy said, raising his voice over the winds that were kicking up. “Don't think I should have the home field advantage?”
“This is gonna end now one way or another, Lucifer!” Ava shouted.
“A fiddle of gold against your soul says I'm better than you, Ms. Arlie.”
Then suddenly he thrust his arm forward, and the cracks rippled towards the team like a dimensional tidal wave. They all yelled in surprise as the rift overtook them all and sent all of them spiraling into the depths of Hell itself for the fight of their lives.

Sorry I was busy for a while. Okay, so I finally got my page up in running. However, I realize that I do not know what I am doing. You are an expert deviant by now right? So how does one properly navigate and set up their site? Like what is your process of uploading pictures, fan fictions, etc?

For uploading pictures and stories, you start by clicking the green "submit" button at the top of the site. For pictures, you hit the big blue "choose a file to upload" button and then choose the picture you want to upload. From there it's just a matter of selecting the picture from your device. For stories, you click the "enter text" option underneath the blue button instead. And what I personally do is I write out my chapters in a Google Doc and then copy and paste the text into that box. Then it's pretty much the same process as the picture uploads. You can also add folders on your main gallery to help you organize all your uploads.
I know that's a mouthful sorry XD it's way way simpler than I'm making it sound
