Description
Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is coming out tomorrow and I'm so hyped! It looks so awesome! In spirit of the time period the game takes place in, I decided to draw up a reference sheet for another ancestor of mine. This is Priscilla Abbott. She lived in what was then the American Northwest during the Industrial Revolution.
Name: Priscilla Abbott
Born: Dorchester, Maryland; November 22, 1823
Died: Worthington, Indiana; June 3, 1867
Occupation: Factory worker; later housewife
Allegiance: Assassins
Bio: Priscilla was born in Maryland to John Pierpoint Montegram Abbott, a Revolutionary War veteran, and his wife. Priscilla lived a relatively normal childhood, playing with friends, receiving education from her parents, helping out around the house, etc. She had two older brothers, George and Abumlee, both of whom fought in the War of 1812. Though she loved them both, and vice versa, she had a much stronger bond with Abumlee, as George was often away on what the family called “special business”.
This bond was solidified when Priscilla’s parents took her and moved to Indiana when she was eight. While George stayed with his wife and kids in Maryland, Abumlee moved to the Northwest as well. He moved to Indianapolis, and often came to visit his little sister, who continued to idolized her brother more and more each day.
One day, when Priscilla turned ten, she learned what “special business” actually meant. Her family sat her down and told her of the Assassins, and ancient brotherhood dedicated to safeguarding humanity's free will. Upon learning that she herself would be one like her brother, she jumped in joy. She spent the next decade training and trying to impress Abumlee any way she could.
By the time Priscilla was 18, the Industrial Revolution had begun. New technologies had emerged and industry was consuming America, as well as the rest of the world. Priscilla earned a living in the factories to help out her husband, an Assassin named Abraham Spainhour, with paying bills. However, she eventually was unable to withstand the awful conditions the factories put their employees through. It didn't surprise Priscilla to learn that the Templars, the Assassins’ mortal enemies, were running the corrupted world of industry. Priscilla quit her factory job and spent the next several years aiding those that had been abused by the hidden tyranny of the Templars.
Priscilla and Abraham had eleven children over the years, six boys and five girls. All of them were raised in the Assassin ways. Priscilla wanted to make sure her children would look at her the same way she looked at Abumlee. Her first son, James, took the Creed to heart. He eventually went on to fight with the Union during the Civil War and would even kill John Wilkes Booth, a Templar puppet. Priscilla eventually passed away in 1867. The health problems that the factories had given her finally became too much for her body to handle.
