Description Oh Krookodile, you brilliant BRILLIANT beast. This handsome croc is hands down my favourite Pokemon. Though Gen 5 can be rather hit or miss in terms of Pokemon design, a good chunk of them strike gold, and Krookodile is one of them. I'll never forget how easily I swept through the game with my first Moxie Krookodile. Earthquake+Crunch+Moxie... It's like playing on autopilot.

Anyways

Overview: Krookodile are often referred to as 'Intimidation Pokemon', a title that is most certainly not undeserved. In addition to possessing the ability to decrease the offensive Element Zero in their opponents (an ability aptly called 'Intimidate'), their sheer size and power is impressive even among other fully evolved Pokemon. Krookodile are enormous apex predators that inhabit various deserts and mountainous environments across multiple regions. Unlike the closely related Feraligatr, Krookodile are most at home on dry land, pursuing prey under the cover of sandstorms. Long lives spent as the relatively frail Sandile have led the fully evolved Krookodile to be not only cunning, and savage, but also vengeful hunters. Many of their predators as Sandile, are nothing more than meat to an adult Krookodile. These enormous Pokemon are still capable of rapidly moving through loose sand like their pre-evolved forms. Often leaving their dorsal plates carving through the surface layer like a series of colossal Sharpedo fins. Krookodile are so dominating of their desert environments, that large individuals are often forced to become nomadic hunters to ensure they find enough prey. The ruthless reputation that proceeds Krookodile leave it respected and feared by many human cultures.

Diet: Krookodile are apex predators in their environments, preying on nearly anything that allows the opportunity. Small prey like Trapinch, Diglett, Baltoy, Darumaka, and Sandshrew are dug from their burrows and hastily devoured. Food items of this size are typically swallowed whole, and often alive. Krookodile are some of the few Ground Type Pokemon that frequently prey on Flying Type Pokemon. Fellow desert dweller, Sigilyph seemingly are among the favorite prey of Krookodile. Medium-sized Pokemon like Vibrava, Heliolisk, and Graveller are ambushed from beneath the sand, before being crushed and swallowed. Larger prey items include Claydol, which are pinned down, and broken open with clawed hands to access the flesh inside, Golem, which are handled similarly, and Darmanitan, which is ambushed, seized in powerful jaws, and swiftly torn apart with ragged shakes. Even other predatory Pokemon such as Luxray, Pyroar, Gabite, and Excadrill are not safe from Krookodile. One of the few Pokemon capable of standing up to Krookodile is the colossal Hippowdon. Simply due to sheer size, Krookodile tend to leave Hippowdon alone, and may be aggressively displaced by them. A curious relationship is known to exist between Flygon and Krookodile. The Dragon Pokemon seem to seek out Krookodile, and the two form a unique symbiotic relationship. Flygon whip up blinding sandstorms, which Krookodile then utilize to ambush large prey. Once seized, the Flygon will attack from above. Such tactics allow capture of much larger prey, such as Aggron, and Onix, which may be difficult for either of the individual Pokemon to capture on their own. Though such partnerships are far from perfect, and Krookodile may occasionally turn on its partner if the pickings grow slim. Garchomp are potential competitors for Krookodile, and typically are dominant over them. Though very few encounters lead to violence, as both Pokemon are capable of killing each other, given the chance.

Size: Extremely large Pokemon, Krookodile typically stand between 15 and 20ft tall, and may stretch over 50ft from nose to tail. Weights vary, but typically fall around 14-22 metric tons. Male Krookodile display sexual dimorphism and are more robust than females, possessing wider snouts, and a more heavyset build. The head of a large male Krookodile may weigh over three metric tons on its own, and can produce a bite force exceeding 40'000psi. This is enough to easily crush the metallic armor of most Steel Type Pokemon.

Interaction with Humans: Krookodile are dangerous Pokemon, and will occasionally prey on both humans and domestic Pokemon, if given the chance. Few Trainers are able to fight off an adult Krookodile, and this has left Krookodile among the most common Pokemon to 'white-out' a Trainer (a term used to refer to a wild Pokemon killing a Trainer alongside their entire team). Krookodile are also highly destructive, occasionally raiding human settlements, and leaving immense damage in their wake. They are one of the few wild Pokemon that occasionally require military strike teams to handle.

Military Application: Enormous size, colossal strength, and a plethora of dangerous attacking moves may give one the impression that Krookodile would be a superb choice for League funded military training. However Krookodile are notoriously difficult to train, owing to their domineering nature and tendency to ignore trainer commands, a high demand of fresh meat also makes them costly captives. High level Elite operatives have been known to occasionally train Krookodile, however success in the field has been limited. This has led to League soldiers to choose more placid Ground Types, like Nidoking, Rhydon, and Flygon. Though Krookodile are still prized as Pokemon used in League approved Gyms, where they excel among their stiff competition.
