An alternative version of the Avengers from the movie.I always though that the Avengers will make a good medieval group, and after watching the movie, I just have an urge to make this version!
I have used historical references for almost all of the costumes - Howkeye is using the uniform of an english archer, Iron man a Maximilian armour, Captain is wearing the armour of a german knight (most becose of the style of the helm) and Black Widow is using a simple dress and cape most used by members of the clergy (i think her will be a great church agent in a medieval setting).
For Thor I have used some historical references - for the clothes - and some extrapolations for the belt and gloves. The hammer is a traditional representation of his simbol, addapted to works as a weapon.
For Hulk I just used a troll from Lord of the Rings (shame on me...) as basis, and then make some adaptations.
The colours aren't this good, but I have a lot of fun colouring this piece!

Anyway, take a look in Savage Avengers. The zero or one issue (not sure) has a reprint of an old comic that was, actually, one of the seeds for this drawing! It was nice to see it reprinted.Β

Interesting idea, to say the least; reminds me of this comic storyline where Morgan Le Fay 'rewrote the world' to a medieval style for some reason...

I afraid I don't read this story with Morgana Le Fay. I remember a history of the X-Men on the earlier 90' in wich a sorcerer called Kulan Gath - or something like this - creates a "zone of conanesque style" in Manhatan. There are some nice concepts in that history. And there are a comic of the New Mutants in wich they go for a paralel reality of medieval fashin where their powers are given by magic itens. Again, there are some nice concepts there.

Although I dont really like how the colours made Captain and Hawkeye a little... Deslocated in the picture, i like the final result. Well, I have no intentions of being a professionl colourist, anyway...
