I'm not crazy about this, overall: there are things I really like, and things I really don't.

This is not the color palette I originally was going to go with...but when I started looking at actual black rain frogs and remembering I wanted to stay true to them where it made the most sense, I decided to try and replicate their color scheme as close as possible...and at some point, just start taking creative liberties. I mostly do that when I feel like a pic is starting to get too dark so I tried to brighten it up both during the painting and color-pencil phase, as well as any minor post-production stuff...and honestly? I don't hate the color scheme.

I feel like I drew him really derpy, though. Derpier than intended, that is.

I'm still struggling with this whole mixed-media thing. I did this first on Canson water-color paper, and drew it with some non-photo blue. I inked over the blue with my Microns and erased it. Then I took my Koi watercolor set and painted it, before I then went over it with a layer of watercolor pencils...and then did it all over again. I thought about inking it over a second time, but I actually don't like the lines standing out too much if I can help it...and I have a sneaking suspicion that any time I try to re-ink over my paintings with my Microns, it royally effs up those pens beyond repair. So i don't chance it if I can help it anymore.

Anyway...here's my frog kaiju. Who still needs a name.
