Description
(I recommend playing "Across the Universe" by The Beatles)Fill out a form outlining what you did in a playthrough of Mass Effect and it will create a tailored epilogue that is coherent and in-line with the established canon.
This will be updated in accordance with feedback and additional DLC.
ANSWER KEY: 11/24/2013 is the first birthday of this Flash. Woohoo! In light of such, I'm finally releasing the answer key to show how to get all the secret responses!
If you're using this Flash for the first time, don't look at the answer key just yet, it's way more fun to be surprised the first time around.

UPDATE: Omega (12/01/2012)
Finally finished updating this for Omega. I also took a good amount of user criticism into account. Here's what's been changed:
-Omega DLC has been incorporated, but the only thing it really affects is making the Cerberus blurb on Earth's slide go down a level. (i.e. Cerberus is less powerful after war)
-Fixed bug where Garrus was given an epilogue even if he died. I also gave an addition to his romance ending if Pinnacle Station DLC was complete.
-For fans of Wrex, there's an extra bit if you did right by him throughout the series.
-The biggest thing I added was ME2 romance epilogues. I originally didn't focus too much on ME2 squadmates since they all got a spotlight in Extended Cut, but there were some who romanced Miranda or Jack who were disappointed that they didn't get any payoff. To alleviate this, Miranda, Jack, and even Thane have their own epilogues if romanced.
-Edited the Rannoch page so the state of quarian immunity is explained.
-Few other minor edits and revisions.
Bug Fix: (12/13/12)
-Fixed a bug that gave epilogues to everyone even if the galaxy had been destroyed.
Citadel Update: I really am trying to work on thee update for The Citadel DLC, but I've been swamped with other obligations. It'll be awhile before I can submit it, but I have not forgotten it. Thanks for the patience and support, all.
(4/19/2013)
Passing the 10,000 views mark was a very nice birthday present.
UPDATE: Citadel (5/26/2013)
I have finally, *finally* complete the Citadel update. I really wanted to release this sooner, but I just could not find the time to work on it. Here are the new additions:
-The Normandy now has an epilogue! Your ship can actually be destroyed or emerge victorious from the Battle for Earth.
-The asari now have an epilogue! This was actually something that I meant to include in the original version, but it fell to the wayside a bit.
-Incorporated Citadel DLC. As awesome as Citadel was, the only thing I could really think to include for it is a slight bonus to Normandy's survivability. If you haven't played Citadel, get it. It's well worth the price.
-Reckoning DLC gets a very brief mention in the "Eradicate Reaper Code" end.
-I converted the last slide into an experimental idea I had that's called Legacy. It has a summary of everything that occurred in your ending which can be screencapped and put on your gallery for all to see. Not sure how much that will actually be used, but if you do decide to put it in your gallery, be sure to let me know. I love seeing the results that others get on this.
-Altered Leviathan settings. If you take control of the Reapers, the Leviathans are now automatically defeated.
-Fixed a bunch of typos.

This is a masterpiece, way better than ME3's original ending and has the same effect when it comes down to the choices available and their consequences.
Thank you.

LOVE THIS!!! Wow, can't believe Bioware gave us that sh*t of an ending rather than your much more superior ones. I'm an avid fan of Shepard/Miranda romance, and I kinda got in my head a military-themed wedding for those two.
Och! All of them should be in London, in person, than over the comms. Better yet, the ending should swap place with Citadel DLC. General idea as follows -
"Shepard survived Citadel control encounter, activated the crucible and defeated the raining Reapers, but passed out due to heavy blood loss, and were rescued by recovery teams. Weeks or months(or maybe even a year) later Shepard recovered and returned to active duty, with all remaining 16(or so) squadmates on board the Normandy. Some time later he received a message that Anderson left Shepard his will, and in it he passed his apartment on Citadel to Shepard, who then went to check out. And then DLC begins, commencing the final epilogue of Mass Effect series, which ends on a group photograph(and, if Shepard had been in a romance, a kiss with his paramour)." The End.
Thoughts?

Simply amazing ... as ME should have been able to end, instead of the **** EA mustered ... now we just need some hardcore programmers to implement this into ME3

I really liked how you integrated the lore into these choices, bringing back the dark energy thing on Haestrom was a stroke of genius. Though I would've liked a "to hell with the crucible, we'll defeat the reapers as a united galaxy" choice, if that Shepard made all the right choices and had a high military effectiveness. Still, damn fine work!

No Synthesis? Not my preferred ending, but odd that is isn't an option here. (Or is it just unavailable due to the options I've picked so far?)

Averross In reply to SomeRandomMinion [2015-05-16 11:42:30 +0000 UTC]
I omitted Synthesis because it's absurd magic BS that has no place in Mass Effect.
As a side note, it's an unconscionably evil act that nullifies many of the themes explored by the game.

SomeRandomMinion In reply to Averross [2015-05-16 12:27:25 +0000 UTC]
Well, I kinda agree.
It always seemed like a cop-out to me, since there never were any drawbacks discussed. Just POOF! Everyone's now a synthetic/organic hybrid; happy-happy.
That and the justification I've heard for it boils down to "ITZ TEH singularity!! Why U so prideful?"

Great job! I played through this several times, using different iterations on everything. For some reason, I've settled on "Control" as the best ending because (1) Shepard lives (well, in a different form, but still), (2) Earth survives (it would have sucked to have put all that trouble into saving Earth only to have the planet rendered uninhabitable), (3) the Geth survive (killing off the Geth is a bit of a disappointment after working so hard to make peace between them and the Quarians), (4) it's the greatest b!tchslap in TIM's face that Shepard, not TIM, would be the one to control the Reapers. It's been about 2 years now, and I still hold no grudge against Bioware for the state of the ending and even the flaws in the overall games. I find it a testament to how damn good Bioware are, that they managed to make Mass Effect 3 as good as it IS, despite all the restrictions, deadlines and bullshit heaped on them by Electronic Arts.

I've got to say I didn't quite understand why people hated the ending as much as they did at first (it only started to bother me after awhile), funny thing is the game nailed it right up until that last half hour. The atmosphere and sense of impending doom. The struggle against the reapers, it was a fantastic game. Maybe that's why the ending felt so off by comparison.

It is interesting that if you chose Shepard to join New Cerberus, a few epilogue slides treat this as if Shepard had died. I guess the galaxy just practically stated "You're dead to us, Shepard!"

ChristyHemmeFanBoy [2013-12-27 07:25:27 +0000 UTC]
I've got another suggestion for this interactive flash: Make an individual epilogue slide for Commander Shepard himself/herself explaining what happens to him/her after the Reaper War (if he/she survived) that also covers what happens after when he/she either decided to settle down, head back to service or join New Cerberus.
The reason why I suggested this is because I'm a bit disappointed that we get explanations on what happens to Shepard only if he/she romanced somebody.

The numeric stepper doesn't allow text input. It still works better than a text box since most people (myself included) can't be bothered to remember their exact EMS and the stepper shows through usage that it only matters to a certain degree.

I must say I love this flash and wished I had found it sooner. See, I'm a fan fiction writer and I'm getting into writing more Mass Effect fiction. I was wondering, purely for inspiration with some connection to this, to use the ending I get from using the flash in a fic?
I only want to ask first since my course practically drilled copyright laws into our skulls. I promise I'd make reference to this and give credit where its due.

I got a suggestion: -
- Put in an epilogue regarding Aria T'Loak's status after the Reaper War. Depending on choices made she either ... (1) ... still rules Omega with an iron fist as usual. (Renegade ending) (2.) ... Eventually softens up & Omega becomes a decent place to live overtime. (Paragon ending) (3.) ... Or she gets overthrown by Patriarch. (Choosing to kill Blood Pack assassins as his krantt in ME2)

π: 0 β©: 1
ChristyHemmeFanBoy In reply to Averross [2013-11-22 08:55:41 +0000 UTC]
Before the Extended Cut was released, I had mixed feelings about it. On one hand, the Reapers are finally defeated and the galaxy is safe (or it is in ruins or all races have gone extinct ...depending on what choices you made throughout the trilogy.)
On the other hand, I was pretty disappointed that the original endings didn't explain anything beyond that, apart from showing the Normandy crash-landing on an unknown planet. (And showing a short scene of Commander Shepard waking up from unconsciousness in some rubble, if you chose to destroy the Reapers and you had a high enough EMS score that is.) It also inadvertently gave the original endings very bleak feeling (even with the "good" versions) to me.
Given that scenario, I wouldn't mind if Shepard had to die (or not if you chose Destroy w/ High-EMS), I just want to know how Shepard's squadmates, along with the rest of galactic civilization, are coping afterwards. And the original endings didn't give me that.
Fortunately with the Extended Cut, it managed to explain what happened afterwards in the form of several screenshots/flashbacks (though it still baffles me why they didn't add a few paragraphs of text to the screenshots explaining what's going on, but that's just me.) Along with some narration done by either Commander Shepard (Control), Admiral Steven Hackett (Destroy) or EDI (Synthesis).
