Description
(I recommend playing "Across the Universe" by The Beatles)Fill out a form outlining what you did in a playthrough of Mass Effect and it will create a tailored epilogue that is coherent and in-line with the established canon.
This will be updated in accordance with feedback and additional DLC.
ANSWER KEY: 11/24/2013 is the first birthday of this Flash. Woohoo! In light of such, I'm finally releasing the answer key to show how to get all the secret responses!
If you're using this Flash for the first time, don't look at the answer key just yet, it's way more fun to be surprised the first time around.

UPDATE: Omega (12/01/2012)
Finally finished updating this for Omega. I also took a good amount of user criticism into account. Here's what's been changed:
-Omega DLC has been incorporated, but the only thing it really affects is making the Cerberus blurb on Earth's slide go down a level. (i.e. Cerberus is less powerful after war)
-Fixed bug where Garrus was given an epilogue even if he died. I also gave an addition to his romance ending if Pinnacle Station DLC was complete.
-For fans of Wrex, there's an extra bit if you did right by him throughout the series.
-The biggest thing I added was ME2 romance epilogues. I originally didn't focus too much on ME2 squadmates since they all got a spotlight in Extended Cut, but there were some who romanced Miranda or Jack who were disappointed that they didn't get any payoff. To alleviate this, Miranda, Jack, and even Thane have their own epilogues if romanced.
-Edited the Rannoch page so the state of quarian immunity is explained.
-Few other minor edits and revisions.
Bug Fix: (12/13/12)
-Fixed a bug that gave epilogues to everyone even if the galaxy had been destroyed.
Citadel Update: I really am trying to work on thee update for The Citadel DLC, but I've been swamped with other obligations. It'll be awhile before I can submit it, but I have not forgotten it. Thanks for the patience and support, all.
(4/19/2013)
Passing the 10,000 views mark was a very nice birthday present.
UPDATE: Citadel (5/26/2013)
I have finally, *finally* complete the Citadel update. I really wanted to release this sooner, but I just could not find the time to work on it. Here are the new additions:
-The Normandy now has an epilogue! Your ship can actually be destroyed or emerge victorious from the Battle for Earth.
-The asari now have an epilogue! This was actually something that I meant to include in the original version, but it fell to the wayside a bit.
-Incorporated Citadel DLC. As awesome as Citadel was, the only thing I could really think to include for it is a slight bonus to Normandy's survivability. If you haven't played Citadel, get it. It's well worth the price.
-Reckoning DLC gets a very brief mention in the "Eradicate Reaper Code" end.
-I converted the last slide into an experimental idea I had that's called Legacy. It has a summary of everything that occurred in your ending which can be screencapped and put on your gallery for all to see. Not sure how much that will actually be used, but if you do decide to put it in your gallery, be sure to let me know. I love seeing the results that others get on this.
-Altered Leviathan settings. If you take control of the Reapers, the Leviathans are now automatically defeated.
-Fixed a bunch of typos.

That was just... beautiful.
It gave me a choice that ACTUALLY MATTERED in destroying the Reapers and dooming earth.
And it was my headcanon to retire to Inata'si with Liara.
I actually feel... cleansed, after that...

Thank yer. This is exactly what I was going for.
I've SERIOUSLY been putting off on a Citadel update, but I'm going to throw in a few extra goodies to make up for my tardiness.

That would be great; I actually felt 'Citadel' was an apology of sorts: 'We can't say it officially because of how Casey Hudson f*cked up the finale, but here's the REAL ending you wanted, folks!'
I loved all your little touches, like Ash replacing Shepard, and how she retired to peaceful obscurity. My Shepard's a spacer, so she'd have no emotional connection to Earth, and seeing humanity have to leave it and colonise space seems so fitting to me. It would also be a fantastic start for a sequel, as humans have to find their place in a changing world.

Excellent as always. This is an ending I can actually be proud of.
I actually feel that 'Citadel' feels better AFTER the final battle, kind of a last mission for Shepard and her crew before retirement. The 'tone' of that DLC is very different to the rest of the game, lots of banter and joking.
One small point; loved the 'Leqacy' screen, but it doesn't say anything under 'Fate of the Krogan' (killed Wrex and Eve, persuaded Mordin not to cure genophage).

Same here. In my headcanon, Citadel IS after the Battle for Earth.
I fixed the Legacy slide. I deleted a few lines of code, rewrote them verbatim, and then it worked . Thanks for pointing that out to me.

I went along with it until it claimed that the Reapers were created to combat Thorian thralls. At which point I promptly hit my head against a wall.
Because developing a nuke to combat a cockroach problem is a brilliant idea.

LilyheartsLightning In reply to LilyheartsLightning [2013-02-25 17:14:56 +0000 UTC]
I also might as well add that, in the context of the numerous quotes from Reapers throughout the series regarding them being organics' "salvation through destruction", saying that they were created to fight Thorian thralls but just ended up going rogue doesn't fit with anything regarding the Reapers' motives that was presented in the series.

"Because developing a nuke to combat a cockroach problem is a brilliant idea."
That was sort of the idea, actually. I always imagined that whoever created the Reapers was severely overreacting to some problem they had. The Leviathan that you talked to in the DLC seemed to indicate that the species as a whole was exceedingly arrogant and would pull a stunt like that.
Also, note that while the stated intention was to get rid of the Thorians, the actual mandate given to them is "Enforce order, advance apex race." The Leviathans just assumed that their new toy would just recognize the Leviathans as apex race by default. Also, "Enforce order" is pretty broad, so from the get-go, the Reaper had to come up with its own idea of order to enforce.
To be perfectly honest, I wanted to leave the Reaper motivation/origin ambiguous on the grounds that no fan theory on the matter would be perfect, but I did have to account for the Leviathan DLC whose end cutscene felt like a desperate attempt to validate Starchild.
Thanks for the criticism; pointing out stuff like this is the best quality control.

By the way, I notice the extra bit on Palaven if Shepard is a Paragon. Maybe you should add something if he or she was a Renegade?

Averross In reply to doodlydangus [2013-02-07 23:41:42 +0000 UTC]
You must be talking about the addendum for saving the Council in ME1. You can still get that if you're Renegade, just as long as you save the Council.
As for an alternate text for letting them die, I felt like it wasn't really necessary because allowing the Council to die is pretty much what everyone in the verse would expect a human to do and so relations with the "sacrifice for the greater good" turians would be largely unchanged.

You should take a look at sparing as Renegade and abandonment as Paragon. The conversation with the Council and/or the human candidates will play out completely differently.

Averross In reply to AdmiralCarsten [2013-01-17 16:51:20 +0000 UTC]
I don't know for sure which one you're talking about, so I'll just tell how to unlock all three of them.
Synthetic Eradication: Geth must survive to the endgame and you need a synthetics expert. This can be Xen or Kahlee Sanders.
Control the Reapers: Gavin Archer must survive to the endgame. You also have to pick Renegade option for either Project Overlord or the Collector Base.
Dark Energy Cannon: Quarians must survive to the endgame with additional knowledge of Dark Energy. This can be attained by getting Conrad Verner's complete schematic in ME3 or through Kal'Reegar's survival in ME2.
I heard a criticism that I was "conforming to the 3 endings clause" or something like that, but these were all I could think of. I was really wanting to have something related to the Salarians, but I just could not come up with anything good.

Yhea, I just did it for my last play through (back when ME3 came out) as best as I could remember and the results here were much more.. perhaps not pleasing, but sensible at least.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Averross In reply to NikitaDarkstar [2012-12-18 22:27:23 +0000 UTC]
Not being pleasing was intentional on my part. Given that ME is a pretty dark series, I didn't want to make any sort of totally "happy" ending. There are bright spots, and some folks make it out and are better for it, but after being attacked by the Reapers, the galaxy could never be the same. I feel like I struck a decent balance.
Of course, keeping it sensible and respectful to the lore was my absolute top priority.

NikitaDarkstar In reply to Averross [2012-12-18 22:47:49 +0000 UTC]
Oh, I'm not complaining, and I'm sorry if I came off that way. I suppose what I was trying to say is that it's fitting, and much moe well written than the "real" ending. Getting all sunshine and rainbows, everyone lives happily ever-after as an ending for a game like Mass Effect would be absurd, even if many people probably wants it for their favorite characters, but it wouldn't make sense.
So yes you did do a good job from what I saw. It takes everything into account as much as possible and gives something sensible with some closure at the end and I really did enjoy it. Even if I have to say that it's somewhat sad that fans made the better ending for this series. (Absolutely no offense meant to you here, you've done a great job, but I'm still disappointed with Bioware after all these months.)

If that's the logical route you feel works for your Shep, go right on ahead. I included that option because from what I've seen, there's a good number of players who genuinely sympathized with Cerberus and I wanted to have something for everybody.

Loved the first go through... but the second... now THAT was an ending for a true hero... Overloaded the Citadel, all survived.... Liara seemed like that she couldn't live on without me by the sound of the story and was conceived before battle at Cronos Station (that surprised me), Garrus being the true friend I remember... toasting me on the day of celebration of the destruction of the reapers (he must be thinking highly of me)... one worth for the human history books, and the galaxy... Long live Cybrus Shepard, the human savior of the galaxy, and the cycle... Gonna cry now...
