Description This labyrinth is my favorite one. The original is in the floor of the cathedral of Chartres in France.
While I was carving, the brown spots came out. It wasn't dried totally inside I think and there happened something.
What is god telling me, I didn't find out yet?!
This is not a pendant, just to lay on a special place with 1 inch space.

A great idea using a medium such as this...such a small space to carve on!

Very impressive.
How do you prepare the avocado pits before
carving them? How long do you let them dry out? Is there ever a problem with them cracking?

Thanks!
I just peel the the two halfs and let it dry.
If it is a big pit, I peel the plane side (which is nearly ever the backside later on) first and let it dry 2-3 days to avoid cracks on the front side.
It takes about a week till they are dried totally.
Then the funny part begins...
I use antique wax (it's mainly beeswax) as finish.

I have featured this lovely deviation in my journal today. Hope that's ok.
