So we all know that both in real life, Railway Series, and Thomas and Friends in Britain the Great Western Railway introduced diesel railcars in the 1930s and the first British mainline diesel locomotive was built by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway in 1947 but, unlike elsewhere in the developed world, the transition away from steam was delayed during the early postwar years and then in the early 1960s British Railways and their controllers were getting all Steam Engines to make room for diesel engines, some steam engine have been saved by some people and are still roaming the rails to this day.
But what if dieselization never happened and British Railways keep on using Steam Engines?
