To be honest, I am absolutely TERRIFIED for this movie. Why? Because if Legendary fails, Godzilla can never be trusted in American hands. But, if a fan is directing it, such as Gareth Edwards, my fears are temporarily settled. Let's just be thankful someone like George Lucas wasn't allowed on set. Otherwise, we'd be seeing Jar Jar-Zilla.

I understand where your fear is coming from, nobody wants 1998 all over again, but dude, you're being afraid for nothing. Unlike TriStar, especially Emmerich, who admitted he hates Godzilla, Legendary Pictures is staying faithful to the source material this time, I've seen the teaser, everything about Godzilla is summed up in 1 minute and 32 seconds, the movie is going to be faithful to the source material this time and the real Godzilla will be starring this time. The reason why TriStar's movie SUCKED is was due to lack of interest, while Legendary is completely interested in.

I've seen the teaser. It's great. Also, now I know that it will be a great movie, because Edwards is interested in content, not the money he'll get from making it. It's like David Tennant as the Doctor, he grew up watching it.

Well, since the new movie takes place in San Francisco, I figured why not, the other previous plans, even in Marvel comics, always showed Godzilla attacking San Francisco.
BTW, the G94 comic is so awesome, I've read the comic AND the script, it put me to tears that TriStar dumped it and replaced it with

It'd be cool if they used a suit instead of CG. But, to appeal to wider audiences...

You know, it doesn't matter if they use suitmation or CGI, though, it's not bad if Godzilla is in CGI every once in a while, people should worry more on the design, hoping 1998 doesn't happen all over again.

What? I wasn't debating. Legendary's Godzilla design at least will actually look like Godzilla, according to the screenshot and that the Godzilla design in their teaser poster actually ressembles Godzilla.
