Description A project birthed from the desire to see the sizes of Pokemon in relation to each other, the desire to categorize Pokemon into evolutionary groups, and the result of too much time on my hands. This series aims to line up the official artwork of all fully evolved Pokemon (and some unevolved Pokemon as well), and by using their official PokeDex heights, scale them up to see how large they really are compared to not only other Pokemon, but to us as well.

Here we have the Pokemon based off of birds. This also includes what I like to call the psudeo-birds, which are Pokemon that have clear bird like attributes such as feathers and beaks, but lack wings, and instead have arms with hands.

Note: All true bird Pokemon are measured by there standing height. Also, Yeveltal is absent because it is too big. We'll see it later. I tried re-sizing them by wingspan and from beak-to-tail, they are all too small.

Yeah...When I made this I was adamant on measuring all the birds the same way, standing height from feet to top of the head. Which potentially is the right way to measure most of the birds, but looking back, definitely not all of them. If and when I remake these, I'm going to to a better job cross referencing them with in game models instead of guesstimating half the time.

Holy frick I love this. You could take like, 3 Hawluchas and carry them around in a duffel bag. Which is portable and convenient if you have to battle someone or. You just don't like wasting duffel bag space.

I hate the fact that Mandibuzz is smaller than Braviary, because 1. she's a female raptor (which are almost always larger than male ones) and 2. she's a vulture (which tend to be larger than eagles).

Just a stock photo of a vulture being dwarved by an eagle.

And here, the real counterparts of the Pokemon you were talking about.

Mandibuzz looks more like a griffon vulture than a turkey, black or Egyptian vulture, though. And griffon vultures can have a 9-foot wingspan.
I'll partially concede the point, though.

It has a bald head, is native to an America-inspired region, was designed by an American (James Turner), and its English name is derived from buzzard, which is used as a common name for the turkey vulture. Bit of a wasted chance to add condor-like elements tho, but, in any case, it is quite reminiscent of Cathartids.

However, it is a cartoon vulture in any case, and those borrow elements from both Old and New world vultures. But bald heads are not something you'll see in a griffon.

I see your misplaced wildlife argument and add this:
> Blitzle and Zebstrika=Based on zebras (though I believe I've heard that there were American zebras that went extinct, so it's possible that they're a reference to that)
> The Kami Trio=Based on Japanese dieties
> Zorua and Zoroark=Based on Japanese Yokai and Kabuki dancers
> Archen and Archeops=An amalgam of German and Chinese dinosaurs
> Taoism Trio=Based on Chinese Taoism
> Sawk and Throh=Based on Asian martial arts
> Woobat and Swoobat=Based on South American bats
> Snivy, Servine and Serperior=Based on South American snakes
> Munna and Musharna=Based on a Japanese Yokai (again, though, I know there were American tapirs that have gone extinct, though this doesn't explain the patently obvious Baku influence)
> Yamask and Cofagrigus=Based on Ancient Egypt

But I do agree about that last part.

I also feel sorry for any Fearow that has to fight that, I mean look at Fear compared to Mega Pidgeot, it's like a hummingbird going up against a hawk
