Description This is an idea I had once, flipping thru a book on african art... imagine all this totems, or scarecrows, left in the jungle (as the ones in Planet of the Apes)... imagine that in some season, the plants grow and use the totem as a skeleton... the vines function as tendons and muscles, the giant leaves provide energy... the thing walks. All of them do... there's an army of plant-powered wooden skeletons...

So I need some sleep...

ooh, I might call this an ent or somthing, except not a giant slow one, this would be like an ent halfling... but Gawd, I do NOT want to know how human/ent hybrids would come about. God my eyes burn... Tree huggers taken to a whole new level.... GAH

reminds me of the robots from "raputa" for some reason
like one of those ancient lost technology things?
like how the leaves give the "flesh" for the robot.

Wow, okay, so I was trying to think of something witty to say, but I'm stuck at the moment. This is just so very spectacular, clever, lively and organic yet so obviously not, and really very inspiring. You have quite the eye.

I really really love the concept behind this too. You should design for movies and make movies not suck.

hmMm, it would be nice if u add maybe some Aztec carvings and markings on him.. coz parts of the body might be remains of aztec civilization and everything.. just a suggestion, this is good enough in itself

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AxelMedellin In reply to emersontung [2005-10-13 06:06:00 +0000 UTC]

Very interesting consept and execution. I think the robot propably looks more treathening with the plants in it than whitout them. I donΒ΄t know, there is just something very treathening about this...

Interesting concept, very plausible. I think i like it a lot in fact. The muscles could maybe be water being sucked into and out of bladders grown by the plant?? LIke the fruit or something!
