Well, that's a little sad. They didn't even confirm how many shadows are out there. And since Roxas and Xion had [the thing] in the forest and Riku was talking with Kairi and Axel was trying to fix the car (wich he made at the end), i don't really think none of them was expecting a shadow attack when they try to sing.
