Description:
This is my drawing of the final Carmine brother, fighting the locust horde on an overwhelming last stand. It was based on many screenshots from the third and second game. The horde game mode from Gears 2 was my inspiration for this piece. You can click on the picture to enhance to details of the drawing!
Detail:
This was drawn during a weeks worth of lesson time in college. I had put pen to paper for this piece before I had managed to play the third Gears installment, so I had to rely mostly on screenshots from both Gears of War 3 and Gears of War 2.
Materials and Equipment:
Pen, Pencil, Standard A4 Plain Paper, Ruler, Rubber.

Thank you! Glad you like it!
It's a rather old drawing now, but still amongst my favourites!

Haha,I think the inspiration for this piece came from a game of Horde in Gears 2. I was the last guy standing as Anthony Carmine against overwheliming odds on Insanity and thought it would transfer into a great drawing! What with Gears 3 on the horizon at the time, I decided to base it on that instead.
That would have been a good detail to include though!

Heh, that's cool. I guess I just find "Dead Gears" an unappreciated art-form. I sometimes think I'm the only person that cheers when a Savage Grenadier rips Baird's arm off and beats the living daylights out of him with it.

I'm a COG fan myself, but the locust are an intimidating force it has to be said! And no one can deny that the locust arm rip execution isn't cool!
Tell you what, when I do my first Gears of War digital drawing i'll add a few dying/dead COG Soldiers to the battlefield solely by your recommendation!

Honestly? Locust fans with the same love of Gear killing as me are hard to come by. 0.0
My favourite person to bludgeon with their own arm is Sam Bryne, just the thought of smacking her teeth to pieces and pounding her eyes out of their sockets with her own arm sends me to a happy place.
Make em nice and gorey, give the Locust that extra feeling of them being intimidating in the final stand.

Haha, I always liked Samantha personally! That said, I don't particularly dislike any Gears of War character, good or bad. Though that Griffin fella could sway my chainsaw bayonet, he's a real muppet!
Lots of blood confirmed! I'll make it as Gears like as I can manage! though I might not get around to completeing it for a while as i've got a couple of started pieces that need finishing first!
It's good to meet another passionate Gears Fan, Locust or COG!

She's my least favourite character, personally. I just love killing her over and over, just to shut her up.
Actually, I will confess, I'm not as a big a fan of the series as I used to be. Honestly, I'm not at all excited for Judgement . I still write stories based on my Locust characters. (who do a lot of Gruesome Gear killing, because they are Locust.

Yeah i'm in the same boat to be honest. I love the series, but i'm not hyped enough for the next installment as to actually buy it on release. From what i've seen so far there isn't really enough difference to warrant me paying full retail price! That's not to say it doesn't look good still, because it will be fun to play no doubt!
Sounds like you have a creative talent in writing then, brilliant! I used to be the exact same some time ago. I used to write detailed stories to go alongside my drawings and such. It was good fun and improved my literacy skills no end!

Some of my work got featured on Epic's website on a segment called "Epic Gamers", I can link you to it if you want, but I don't wish to muscle in.

That's a pretty impressive thing to boast! I'd certainly be stoked if my work got featured by the creators of one of my favourite franchises!
You won't be muscling in, no not at all. Feel free to post a link, i'd gladly take at look when I next take a tea break from designing my next piece!
