Description

Chemeleko are a species of small, lizard like animals. They are very social and love to interact with one another. They've been around for eras, including the cretaceous time period. Usually eating protein rich foods and greens, their coats are very fluffy and neat, which also indicates a healthy Chemeleko. Their main diet consists of honeydew plants, flies, beetles, strawberries, and many other foods, however they do not eat animals like mice, rabbits or birds. The fluff on their head puffs up when they are angry, as well as their back fur. When scared or intimidated, they drop their tails. Tails can regenerate, but if not fully regenerated within 4 weeks of dropping, the Chemeleko is unhealthy. They only blend into their surroundings if frightened or angry.

Chemeleko are born without any rib structure whatsoever, so they are super flexible. Their back fur balances their weight so their insides don't collapse.
Their lack of a vertebrae also advances their survival. It's easier to dodge predators' jaws with no spine in the way.
Most species dislike the taste of chemeleko due to their slippery texture anyway.

They live in rainforests and canopies, near ponds or living in trees. Chemeleko love to chatter with other species, like Fenroo. They usually do not hold long grudges when upset, and can be passionate with other creatures.

Mates can be of any gender, however homosexual couples may not have hatchlings. They can adopt abandoned or donated baby chems. Ace Chemeleko are rare, they have the same enthusiasm as every other Chemeleko, but they prefer not to mate. If you wish to pair your chem with another and breed them, ask me and I'll see what I can do.
