heres a picture of the finished mask worn: [link]

so yeah, i recently was pretty happy with how a mask i was doing (for my Jason Todd cosplay) came out so i thought why not make a sort-of-kind-of tutorial on how i did it, in case anyone asked in the future

the 99cent store is currently selling this type of mask (that was covered in black glitter paint when i got it) for the Halloween season. If you\'re able to, i strongly suggest stopping in and grabbing one if you\'re in the market for a cheap mask base.

You could also buy a hard fabric version of the same style of mask base online, however the price is more like $5-$12

Hope this helped anyone out there!

Thanks a lot for this tutorial! I'm being Harley Quinn this year and pretty sure I have the exact same mask. I didn't want to cut it up and take off the glitter because I thought it was really nice, but I honestly can't find anything that even almost matches the quality and works for my costume. At least I can use what I have and come up with something useful. This is saving me for sure! Thanks!

SUPER helpful. I'm doing Raven-as-Robin for Halloween and I really didn't want to spend $20 on a mask.

yeah i wouldnt either. the good part about cosplays that need masks around halloween is that you have a lot more available to you, so definitely check out dollar stores. remember that if it feels like sturdy material but its covered in glitter and crap you can most of the time scrape all that stuff off. good luck!

how do you get it to stick to you?
Does it just stay on, or did you put strings on, or an adhesive, or what?

This is SO cool. I bought a similar mask for around the same price today to attempt to do this for a Robin domino mask. :3 Thank you for making this tutorial!
