Description
Lineart:colours: me
Ahhh, this one was fun..
I needed the practice, and doing a cityscape seemed like a welcoming challenge considering it's been EONS since my last one. While I was colouring this on my old comp, it almost died on me twice so I got scared and restrained myself from adding any other uberly finicky details. But even otherwise, it's a good thing I didn't overwork this too much. I was conflicted in just how much focus I should put into rendering the city or the girl on the platform XD, I didn't want all that hard work that went into the building details to go to waste.
In hindsight, it doesn't look too different from the way I coloured the backgrounds in the Rotogin comic -_-... Dangit, I need more practice.

I love how you captured the light through this. I am guessing sunrise? The balance between the girl and the city landscape is balanced I think. My own thought. ^^

Heyyy, you're like the first person who's ever said the word "awesomesauce" to me! [Although I was told once my sauce was made of awesome, I completely misunderstood the meaning at the time.]
Digital painting can be a bit of a chore, but I think it really depends on what exactly do you want to paint and how you want to paint it. Lots of visual research comes in handy, and I also find the best way is just to find a workflow that works for you. In my case I'm just used to a freestyle oil painting method, so I tend to use a lot of brushes [some of which I make myself] and lots of vibrant colours. It's a bit hard for me, but I try not to use a lot of pure blacks and whites in my work because it can have a nasty tendency to make the piece look flat.

Wow... I love the perspective. Very cool.
The city is a little repetitive and boring, and the shadows don't seem quite right, but I like the way the figure is drawn against the skyline, and the very 'digital age' feeling.

It's just so...Wow. I'd love to read into this, thinking that the feathers in her hair denote somekind of aboriginal or native origin, and how this is a commentary on the slow and steady bastardization process of civilization overturning the balance of nature...But I'm in it just for the ass crack. Sweet, sweet booteh. Yeah.
