This scene is always a little jarring because Aang seems so different from how he is in canon. However, in the fanfiction, the backstory leading up to this point unfolds little by little as the story goes on. (The author also completely rewrote the prologue of the fanfiction since this comic came out, and the new version is absolutely brilliant. Definitely check it out when you have the chance.)
This page is probably the best example so far of how the tiniest nuances in expression can be important in how the page is read. I can't even say how long I spent on Aang's face.

I'm surprised that i only find this comic now... I wanted to read the story in itself first,but read it was discontinued... have you stopped drawing the comic too, or are you going on your own instincts now?
on a side note, I absolutely love how you drew the characters, it's very much almost like the show!

I'm kind of sad that they stopped xD but I'm glad they did an end summary tho! at least they think about the readers xD (I'm not looking at any cancelled fan fics, nope *glares at writers abandoning their work*)
I understand that, although it's nerve wrecking for those wanting to read more, it is also rewarding when you get multiple pages at once to read xD I'll be waiting for februari, then

I know how much work can get into that and literally praise those who do it xD I'm happy you are addicted to working on this comic, because I would probably scream if you ended up notifying us about stopping the comic lmao. Although that will eventually end up happening, at least you have a 'completed' comic then xD
