When I was first doing the sketches for this comic I spent a lot of time on the third panel—I had a very particular expression in mind for Katara, obviously far more reserved and less expressive than canon Katara, but also a kind of warmth that reflects a different relationship she has with her instructor and mentor Hama as compared to the warriors.
