Started working on this again since I need to get back into the groove of things, see previous entry . This time I went and tried to refine some of the shading so that the colors didn't appear to burn as they got darker. Also changed up the red a bit since it wasn't taking any of the gray-tone overlay.For the most part, I'm not sure if I'm going in the right direction with it and what to do with Mai's (girl primarily in red) hair. The sketch doesn't give a lot of direction to go with and my attempts to shade it is making it look a lot like a dark blue blob. Oy.
Anyone have some tips and or suggestions for any of these?Shading Layer for anyone interested in seeing that area as well.

I like the poses, and the skin tones are lovely ^_^ As far as a couple suggestions, her right knee looks sort of collapsed... you might want to try rounding it out a little. Also, for her haair, it might help if you made the hilights going long-ways instead of going side-to-side. Hope that is of some help and I cant wait to see the finished pic!

As for Mai's hair highlights, I think I'll try your suggestion for sure as what I currently have doesn't look all that great.

I like what you've done so far. Are you making Mai's hair black or blue?
Just wondering cus it's usually light brown, dark brown or a auburn/dark red.

Well, I was shooting for a dark blue to black initially; but, after playing a couple of old Fatal Fury games to get some references for her clothing, I realized that her hair is brownish red like you mentioned. I might leave the blue to match her alternate outfit though.

Thanks, but it's still a work in progress as the only major things I seemed to have focused on were Whip's feet and Mai's legs.
