Beautiful, but you really need to do your research. As I explain here [link] this design as absolutely nothing to do with the Maya and very little to do with calendars except for having day glyphs inscribed on part of it.

Thatβs correct, but the artist here has been told to make this calendar, and that it is a Mayan calendar

Meaning the one who needs correcting is the client.

I had been dealing with so many misinformed people that month that it had become reflexive to correct anybody who brought up the Mayan calendar/apocalypse stuff. The piece is well-done, considering how the Sun Stone has become worn with age.

But it's a beautiful work anyway.

Very nice! ... but that's an Aztec Sunstone not a Mayan calendar

Thanks. I have been given a picture and I made it done. The customer told that it's Mayan. Despite of not being so familiar with these cultures, I saw that picture on the web which tells that is Mayan.

The calendar is known as both Mayan and Aztec. However I have to agree with Uratz-Studios. This piece to my eye and experience (based in studies on 'pagans) is based of the Aztec calendar. Mayan's though did have a grand calendar, like the Aztec's it operated on another scale and system. But that's just me saying what I believe to be true.
It is a great work, I bet the details where a real pain to do at times.

Thanks for the comment. I have been given a purchase order with a picture which was told by the customer that was Mayan. I have finished the piece in 3 weeks with only using carving blades.

The mayan's tablet were much simpler.
