Description Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a young woman who's ready to fight.

Thanks to Kallisti, Azalea now bears four discreet yet powerful wristbands called the Magnosyphon Bracelets. When worn, the bracelets absorb the superfluous electric power running through her, so she can't hurt herself or others with lightning. Additionally, if Azzy ever suffers another spell of anger, the bracelets automatically lock up around her wrists (preventing her from turning them off or removing them). Otherwise, the bracelets can be turned off at any time (as seen in this pic) so that all the energy stored in them can be released to power electronic devices, or perhaps for self-defense purposes (again, as seen in this pic).

I have to say, I really am proud of myself for this pic. The one thing I don't like about it so much is the light ball. (I know, there probably should be a second drop-shadow, but I'm too lazy to figure out how to put one in.) Oh well. They can't all be perfect. Let me know what you think!

Nice pose!

She doesn't need the bracelets much anymore, though, right?

Right. The Magnosyphons are little more than fashion accessories now. She still gets electric fits, but they're few and far between.

Yes, so powerful that it consumes her if she doesn't exercise self-control. That's what the bracelets are for.

Yeah, I went over my shades and highlights with the smudge tool this time to get a nice blending effect. But to be honest, coloring was never a big problem for me. It's my lineart that sucks. Thanks, though!

Do you still ink in Photoshop or did you switch to vectors?

Still using Photoshop, and I'm still doing it the way I've been doing it for almost a year, except now my default line thickness is 1.5 px instead of 1 px. I really wish I could get a vector prog, though. It would be worth the extra effort just so my lineart would look less polygonal.

I'm only 50% sure but I think Photoshop has some basic vectoring tools somewhere...

Otherwise, get CorelDRAW X13. (emphasis on get! ) If you catch me on YIM, I'll tell you more about it. I find vectoring to be the best way in existence when it comes to digital inking - you can scale your vector infinitely without ever loosing detail, and you can easily shape curves to suit your needs.

I also know of some artists who use Macromedia Flash to do the inking job, since Flash is technically a vector program as well.

Actually, PS does have a way to vector. It's called the pen tool. Though I wish it worked the same way in Photoshop as it does in Illustrator. If I had Illustrator, I'd use that for inking instead of PS.

Well, it's only a simple drop-shadow. Cool little layer-blending feature in Photoshop that I never bothered to use until now.

You were always the type to give me too much credit for something that only took me only 2-3 hours to make. But thanks.

The braclets are an interesting idea. It shows this as opposed to the alternaltive cliche "mastery after lots of intense training" routine.

As for the picture itself, there's someting about it that makes it perfect. I can't name one aspect I particularly like. It's a network of complementary details that make something I'm incredibly jealous over. O.O

Yeah, I never found the "training-montage" thing to seriously work well for any character without seeming like a fairy tale. Maybe someday Azalea will be able to control her own power without the aid of the Magnosyphons, but if I were her, I wouldn't take any chances for now.

Thanks for your input, man.
