So pretty! I don't think I've seen such a vibrantly coloured one before

Roses are the perfect subject, always always beautiful and you're right, the colors are perfect. This particular rose is bold and bright and consequently by using a point and shoot its slightly over exposed. Unfortunately over exposure can cause colors to dull, which is why the leaves aren't as bold and vibrant as the rose itself. An easy remedy is to play with lighting, and if possible the controls on the camera. An editing program can allow you to adjust the exposure levels just becareful not to saturate the colors! The texture is great, and the clarity is nice.i love the water drop on the leaf, I wish it was a little more prominent. The one thing I would suggest is playing with perspective, from up above, below, level, close up, far away etc. you can find unique ways of shooting one particular rose to find the perfect shot that brings out the uniqueness of that particular rose. Always take the background into consideration with this. Objects or plants in the background can distract so keep shooting until you find the perfect shot!

ok, i'll think about the exposure next time.
I didn't even notice the water
Yes, I totally ignored the background when I was taking this picture. I will keep this in mind.
