Both Trixie and Starlight were surprised when they found out their little bundle of joy, their future little wizard, their magical miracle was born... A Pegasus?

They were both shocked and confused. Irid was magically conceived and was supposed to be the perfect junction of the talented magic enthusiasts. There's no way any of them could have cheated. Although she was born with a pair of wings, Irid did inherit a traditional unicorn trait, the long leonine tail.

After the shock passed, Trixie and Starlight decided that well, if their child couldn't grow to be a powerful and talented magician, at least they could enroll her in the academy. She could be a professor or something of the sort.

Iridescence, as she was named at birth, prefers to be called Irid, her name reflects on her colorful essence and free spirited nature. Irid never had any interest in the magic stuff her mothers always tried to get her into, and was much more interested in the outside world than spells and magic books.

Despite her elegant pretty looks, Irid is free spirited mare, and wishes to put to very good use the pair of wings she was somehow blessed with. She's bold and always down for adventure and to discover new things and have new experiences. She can be a bit reckless and not always consider the dangers of every situation, but she sure is willing to take the risk!
