I randomly felt like drawing canon ponies, and I drew moondancer because I wanted to give a smol tweak to her design because he original design pains my soul.I didn't change much about it cause I didn't want to change the essence of her design but anyway. I'm not super creative like ItsTechTock to come up with bunches of headcanons (hey u should really check out their work, they're so dedicated and they got a bunch of amazing stuff <3) but I'll just throw these two here
- Moondancer is highly insecure and ever since they were kids, Moondancer had always had some strange fixation towards Twilight Sparkle. Moondancer had always been shy, insecure and emotionally (and socially) awkward, she didn't really know what she was feeling so she just assumed it was some sort of really strong admiration towards her friend, she wanted to be like her and even look like her (thus why their manestyles are the same). turns out it was like one amazing big crush
- Moondancer is currently a professor at Celestia's School for Gifted unicorns, she teaches there and does researchs on magic, sometimes alongside Sunburst.

Ah, the peachy orange goes much better than the yellow. I like her character, but her colors are garish in the show. Also, cute hair!

OMG Thanks <3 I felt this vibe of drawing some canon characters, and as much as I'm not a fan of adding too much extra detail to them (I kinda feel that in my stile some of them few... Idk, too much) I just HAD to tweak Moondancer's colors! Thank you so much~
Honestly a part of me feels like Moondancer's colors look kind of a "reverse" color palette y'know? (Like when you reverse the colors to their opposite on the color wheel or something lol. It's weird and none of the original shades match somehow. I tried to make it more softer idk, kinda like with a sunset-ish/purple/peach vibe, so that they're slightly less painful to see together lol
I was kinda thinking about drawing Big Mac too (whether its his canon version or a trans!Mac headcanon like yours~ idk, I kinda like the idea of naming trans!mac as Bright Red, it keeps the short name vibe and I feel like after she had transitioned, she'd "give up" on her "big mac" name, but keeping it somewhat similar and she added the Bright as some sort of tribute to her dad and a way of keeping her name as something that was named after his <3 Her full name would be something like Bright Red Gala or something~
Anyway, ya got any suggestion of canon characters you'd like to see????

Exactly! I get that they were going for a color scheme opposite of Twilight's to parallel their character arcs. But it just clashed too much before. The sunset colors are much prettier.
And YES! I'd love to see your version of trans Big Mac! It would also be fun to see your take on Lightning Dust, Celestia, Cozy Glow or Chrysalis.

I might even still tweak her colors again after this, they seem slightly bright still, I think Moony would do good with a less saturated palette.
I'm a little lazy to do princesses and one character or another, but Lightning, Cozy and Chrysalis seem to be an interesting choice <3 I honestly wanna get some inspo do draw a headcanon about Changelings and introduce mlp NG Ocellus too <3

This is faaaaar better than the show design. The canon design's mane style... oh god. I love this, it's still pretty close to Twi to show the comparison but she looks more put together. I get that they were going for a "she doesn't care about anything but studying so her physical appearance suffered" idea but she could have done with a redesign at the end at least. Or later when she went to the coronation or SOMETHING. This would have been perfect

I kinda like the idea of Moondancer being similar to twi, but the fact they gave her like the exact same mane shape is annoying. I feel like they could be like really similar, but not the exact same. I feel like it's just as cringeworthy as Twi's design being slapped into Celestia's body shape on the show's finale.
Ooh yeah, I imagine she used to be sweeter and a bit naive before everything happened, so I tried to restore that in her design kind of~ She's like shy, super intelligent and nerdy~

The designs definitely gives her that feel. And yeah the whole "recolour" thing irked me a lot too. I mean I get what they were going for but it was a bit too blatant. Especially with recoloured Twilestia. Cadance and Luna got their own body shapes, you wanna tell me they couldn't do the same for Twi? They could have also done better on her mane colouring in her "final form"

OMG thank u so much! I tried to go for like a soft nerdy look rather than the "I haven't seen the sunlight in a decade" look they gave her lol.
I kinda like to think Moondancer is like... Demisexual? Cuz perhaps she only felt the attraction because she had somewhat of a close relationship with Twilight (at least she felt like so back then). She was always socially isolated from the others and had never felt this for any other colt or filly so that's why she had no idea what was going on lol

Lol, I like the fact Moondancer used to be an insecure/emotionally fragile mare, and having Twilight, her very best friend back then, "betray" her, leaving and not saying goodbye was a great shock, and it somehow traumatized her for some quite good years.
She's truly an akward and sweet mare on the inside, but when one of her biggest fears had become reality, which is being left behind/betrayed by her friend, she grew a bit bitter.
Lol I just see her as demi since she seems to have a lot of trouble trusting people, so it seems as if she'd need to really get to know somepony or have a strong relationship with them to feel attracted. I kinda do see that happening with most likely girls rather than boys, but idk XD
