I just draw a regular size picture and shrink it down to 50x50 pixels and retrace the lines with actual pencil tool.

Not bad for a first attempt! However, the lines are really jagged, making it look kinda rough. To fix this, simply zoom in and get rid of the extra pixels until you're left with nice smooth lines C: There's plenty of tutorials on dA to explain that better XD"

this is a great try for a first attempt :3 I'd work on the eyes when they blink though the one on the left raises up alittle too much. I know it's for an avatar so I wont bug with shading because you cant really tell in the tiny avatar.

I think the eyes would look better had I made them into separate layers so I wouldn't have to redraw her eyes in every frame. That caused some misplacement.
