Description Swainson's Hawk, native to Eastern Washington not Western - This was a hawk on display for our local raptor sanctuary explaining why we need to keep these birds wild. This bird had been bought, without license, as a pet for a kid by his parents. She was fed things like gummy worms and junk food, never learned to hunt and is too dependent on people to be released into the wild. If you released her she would fly around until she got hungry and would try to get food from the first person she found, which is how she was found out. Still a beautiful bird.

Ah thank you! I thought that it was something like that, that the presenter said but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Thank you again!
