Description
Many people have asked me about what kind of tools I use for my paintings and drawings. As a visual aid, I took a photo of all the tools I use, which include the recently bought mechanical pencils. The watercolor set is from my school days and is rather old.
Hope this helps some people, if they want to start drawing or painting.

Whoa, I've been looking for mechanical pencils like that for forever! Where do you buy them or the lead for them? I can only find the really common ones with HB lead, not with the full range.

A blending stump is double sided and a tortillion has only one side that can be used to blend

Haha, I think its a stick of plain wood you use to blend different variations of graphite together. I'm probably thinking of something else, but oh well. Hope that helps.

Okay, Erde an Aline. ~_~ Wer lesen kann ist klar im Vorteil.
Also Tusche. Oh mein Gott. >_< Wie ich das Zeug gehasst habe.
Dabei habe ich mir immer vorgenommen, mal zu versuchen, was ernsthaftes damit zu malen. Und jetzt kommst du. oo'
Echt klasse, was man mit Tusche so machen kann! :,D
Ich mag es blos irgendwie ΓΌberhaupt nicht, wie es sich anfΓΌhlt, wenn man drΓΌberstreicht. So rau...
*voll unnΓΆtige Info*

Your work is just too good! I just wanted to ask what you use a mechanical pencil for and if you prefer using them to a regular pencil? I've never used them before, i'm curious to try them.

Do you possibly have a complete list of the brand names that work best? I have trouble searching for art products that work properly when I have a million to choose from.

Daler Rowney are good. They are the main brand I use for my work.
Pentel are also good if you want to use mechanical pencils. Just a few options for you, if you are able to get them.

the sharpener... is it just an ordinary sharpener? hmm I find some of the pencils' shape pretty interesting, do you use the knife? (it is a knife right? the red thing left of the sharpener)

ViiiFox In reply to UmaOni [2012-08-14 05:21:56 +0000 UTC]
the knife might be used for cutting borders on posters, thicker paper, etc. like if u buy a huge posterboard(sumtimes its a value), tht kinda knife would cut it into smaller pieces better than regular scissors. but thts just a guess lol

Journie In reply to OnlyOliveOil [2012-05-08 00:38:33 +0000 UTC]
I may be wrong on this, but I think it's a spray you use to keep the graphite from smudging after you're done.
