I like to think that if T.rexes were really feathered then only young individuals were fully (chicks) or partly (juveniles) covered with them, and the sub-adults and adults completely lacked any type of feathers. There's not really much of evidence that T.rexes may had feathers. Maybe they didn't had them at all, or maybe they were as fluffy as baby chickens (partly)

To me it seems odd that an animal that was floofy as a chick would loos all of le floof as an adult.
