I hate when people (or bodies of people IE governments etc) do things in Gods (or Allah or whatever you want to call him/her/it/them) name! Most of us have sort of forgotten whats going on over there in Iraq. That doesn't mean its not happening anymore. We've just started to get used to the thought. Whether we like it or not.Anyway, back to the topic:
I get frustrated when people (or governments) say they follow god and then do something like.... Invade a country?? This piece is dedicated to using God as an excuse for evil.
Just sick of people going out and doing things in Gods name....
And now i'm very sleepy!

I will try and reply to all your comments and such but it might take a little while...
P.S. It seems that some people are wondering how religion comes into play here. One of my main points in this argument is the official US motto. 'In God We Trust'. ( See here: [link] )
I do not believe that you can say such a thing, such a bold statement, without at least IMPLYING that everything you do is of god.
Once you begin to portray your allegiance (If you will) In such a way, you can no longer really separate the two anymore (State and religion).
But thats my belief anyway...

No. Thats not what i'm saying at all.
I guess one of the reasons I used the was in iraq as an example for this piece was because around the time that I posted this (Which is more than a year a go now) There were a lot of documentaries on the iraqi soildiers etc. And in one of those, the soldiers were praying before they went out for the day.
I cant find the speech right now (Maybe you could tell me where to find speeches and such!?) but i remember bush saying something about the soldiers praying and god being on their side.
Dont think of my link to 'In god we trust' as being my only link, or reason on thins issue, because its not. There are many more examples.
My main goal for this piece, Is to get people to think. Think about what they're doing rather than continue with blind obedience (As in some cases...)
I'll say it again (Not sure if i've mentioned this already or not) but the nature of Christianity is that of, you will do all things from god, through god, for god. Thats the general idea. Everything you do should flow through this. THATS why I use 'In god we trust' as an example.
I will say it again, I DONT think you (Americans or Westeners) are responsible for radical islam. Just as the Muslims were not at fault for the radical Christians in those days.
We may do things that inflame situations, but sometimes, the anger is already there, and it just needs a target. (If you get my meaning)

I think that I've been speaking over your head. Let me do this simply...you are trying to make a general statement about humans using god as an excuse for war. There is however NO UNIVERSAL GENERIC symbol for god. You have chosen a CROSS, which is ONLY Christian. Your connecting Christianity with war has NO MERIT in our current world. (Please don't insult my intelligence by bringing up ancient history like the crusades, we've moved on past that crap). Connecting In God We Trust with war is like saying a rooster crowing is the cause for the sun coming up in the morning. Do you understand that the image you have created is COMPLETELY OFFENSIVE? As I said before, your image appears creative but it speaks of NO TRUTH. When it speaks of no truth it becomes manipulative and deceptive.

You are free to think what you will. By all means. I am NOT trying to get people to BELIEVE what im saying. Im trying to get them to THINK. And obviously this has caused you to think a great deal.
HOWEVER I believe 'we've moved on past that crap' is false. The terrorists who attacked the world trade center towers are FIGHTING A WAR. This is what im trying to say!
This piece is NOT ENTIRELY about Christianity (As I mentioned in my summary, the same can be thought of Muslims etc etc etc)
For some reason it seems I have offended you. This is not my aim. However I will not go out of my way to make sure people arent offended in a case like this. Someone is ALWAYS going to be offended no matter what you do!
