This is "Boomer" for celebrating the Fourth of July. I tried a technique I got from a book for the fireworks but it didn't translate to such a small format (ACEO 2.5" x 3.5") So I messed with some Pearlescent acrylic and whites to make the fireworks more exciting. I named her afterward. With a name like that I should have painted her really top-heavy if you know what I mean. I have to find the file I used for a reference. ..Got it. I was paint her with enormous boobs but thought that might be a tad too tacky. She was going to be wearing blue instead of red but then I thought she would look like Capt. Mermaid

I'm thinking now I should have painted the whole thing black and then added the fireworks on top. I tried to negative paint them like a technique I saw in a watercolor book and botched it up and painted over then with acrylic. If I ever do something like this again that is how I'm going to do it.

the way you drew her hair is cool it almost looks like her hair is part of the fireworks.

I tried. Edges got alittle too hard as I envisioned a more subtle progression into the fireworks and almost overworked it. I didn't quite get the fireworks as I wanted to but in the end I'm pretty satisfied.
