well here it is! a lot more work then you might think but it is true that since the illustrations are simple i'll be able to pump a Dave comic out pretty quickly.a thanks goes to Dragontrap for making a pretty coherent guide on making interactive comics (you can find the guide here. )
there is a link to the website at the end but you can also find it here anyways.
so yeah, chapter 2 is on the way, should see it next month. i'd rather not stuff journal entries into anyones mailbox about progress or meaningless stuff so if you want to follow dave, check out the site. but don't worry i'll still be posting the comics here.

ok i've finally got it how i like it. i wish i could just change the resolution of the final piece but flash isn't nearly so flexible.

i honestly thought about putting these 'features' in but i somehow talked myself into thinking they would harm the story some how... they will be implemented into future chapters.

Don't know if I've already commented,. but I remember when this got a DD, and I absolutely loved this little story. But I only got to chap 1. I forgot the title, and since I've been trying to find it.
So, bored, I look up the name "dave" and what do I find...

I'm very fond of this story so I decided to read it again. I can relate to Dave in every way, and like Dave I'm still trying to find my answer.
I guess the reason why Dave just doesn't go around is because: Dave's not trying to take any shortcuts. I admire him for taking life long way. All I can say is I won't be surprised of the ending; about 'this' object.
Dave to me is what represents life in most of us. A curiosity of finding "this" happiness and the obstacles life throws at us.

i appreciate all the different ways people interpret dave. everyone has seemed to pick up on some part of dave and draw a connection to real life.
in that scene i had suggested that dave could not get around anti-dave because it was literally and physically impossible without touching. you have connected to this in your own way which is astonishing to me, and amazing

For some reason, I really, really like this, and I can't wait until the second one. It's original and clever, and the concept just really appeals to me. Fantastic job.
On a side-note, dave needs to be capitalized on the page where he notices the object. Just a random typo I saw

This just shines with intelligence and beauty. Neatly and subtly woven into the fabric of this comic is the everyday story of a person that is everyone, who wants to get an object that is everything but is stopped by the one and only themselves.
Curiosity
Realization
Illumination
Hope
Journeys
Sadness
And self awareness.
The story of Dave reminds us all that sometimes you can't get what you want in life, only to find that we're keeping ourselves from getting what we want. And maybe that's for the best at times; maybe anti-Dave can also be a conscious of sorts.
Reading this made me thinks of how the human race really is. You basically summed it up in a delightful yet sad story that touched my heart.
You certainly deserved that DD. Good job, and good day~

you make me feel like i have a lot to follow up with. i mean, this is only the beginning, and it is supposed to be a continuous story. i guess I've never thought of this chapter as a one off, but i guess it is in a way. makes me wonder if any of the others will be as good.
