Description
This poemwill be found
where you live,
somewhat short of breath,
missing an arm,
and looking
for the way
things used to be.
It will tell
the story of a dream
watching a dream.
Behind small jars
of cardamom
and bay leaf
you will catch
its scent, and,
as you move aside
a thing or two,
it will look up
with lips that purse
like an eye
to recite
all the words for blue
(which might also
be all the names
for wind, weariness,
and God).
It will tell you
what kind you have been,
recalling
the shoes you wore
when you were.
This poem
will be found
where poems always are.

I've hit a dry patch of late, but I'll work my way out of it and get back to posting I'm sure. Thanks for giving the poem a chance and spending a little time on it. I appreciate that a lot.

Wonderful. Where all poems live; no matter what they are about. It's amazing. It's like the place where all souls go when they aren't attached to the body no more.

Thank you Ender I am flattered -
Orson Scott Card wrote one of my favorite short stories when I was in highschool...It's called "A Thousand Deaths". If you ever get a chance to read it I think you might really like it

Have you sent them some of your poems?
Have a nice... day, I guess? It's 11.30 PM here, but the time is a few hours back in the US.
Cheers,

The stanzas are really short. When I try to read, it seems kind of choppy. Maybe that's the effect you were going for, I'm not sure.

I like this one. It very nicely recalls the feeling that finding an unexpected bit of the past brings and the free-flow of surprising thoughts that can happen then.

wow... you're a poetic genius, I say!
You should do a lyrical work for me.
Write me a song. I'll compose some music for it.
Hit me up sometime.

Hi, I found your stunning poem through our mutual friend, the beautiful . It brought tears to my eyes. I once lost a friend to cancer when I was very young. Doug used to make me chai, long before it was ever well known, and his laughter is ever with me. I deeply thank you for bringing me the scent of cardamom.
