i know what it was...its leftovers. When something big (bigger than like, a mosquito or gnat) gets stuck in its web, it run over then shoots its webbing all over it, making a cocoon...a greenish cocoon.

i absolutely HATE spiders, but this photo is amazing. you can see both the structure and texture of the spider and he fills the space beautifully. i love the dark bg, it fits the subject, and i like that we can see bits of web. well placed and focused. reminds me a bit of a shot once taken by *superhero89 i love the way you did this!

maybe an inch, inch and a half...lol, it's smaller than it seems

It's really aggressive when somethign lands in it's web though. It shakes the web like crazy then runs over and sprays it's web into a cocoon around it in about 2 seconds.
