Spike and Gabby;
The two met when Gabby started to deliver mail, and met Duke Spike the dragon in cantorlot who hailed from the House of Magic.
Spike was soft spoken but goofy to those he opened up to, and the spirited griffin Gabby was just the creature to open him up.
The two spent a lot of time together and eventual set off together to explore Equestria and beyond.
