Description Title:Cry No More
Medium:water mixable oil paint
Size:2ft x 3ft
Model:Rave
Collection of Atty.Lumibao

Rendered in the frozen portrait of the artist's seven-year old son, this painting is a dismal image of his own, youthful self. Ironically, this vivid orchestration of colors in realistic form narrates the early, untimely death of his beloved mother. According to Jaylo, this experience serves as his first, grave tribulation that eventually shaped him into the poetic soul that he has become. Unlike any ordinary child, he has even witnessed the dramatic passing away of his lifeless mother within his very own eyes. The gravity of pain was too much especially for his age, and had he been an average soul, he would have been shattered by the imperceptible scars of emotional devastation. But instead, he became numb. He was forced to swallow that bitter chunk of truth and live with it. All those tears that he could never have cried out solidified into an armor of anti-sensation and served as the sole shield of his much scarred soul. The pointing fingers around the central figure poses as a subtle symbolism for the rundown of trials in his life, screaming and pointing straight in his face. It is also highly noticeable that the child's face seems to glow with confidence and strength, despite the deluge of negativities trying to devour him. This is to simply represent that he has no choice but to get tough, especially in an imperfectly molded dog-eat-dog world. The painting was depicted in a whimsical manner, as if it was taken from an imaginary utopia, one that exists in the surreal corners of a delusive mind. However, according to Jaylo, this secret place is located inside him and it is not a mere product of delusion. It's not running away from the world. In fact, it's the protective shelter that embraces him as faces the sweet tragedies of this candy-coated world.

This is wonderfully symbolic, and absolutely nutritious in a philosophical way. It makes me shiver and smile, and one can take so many different perspectives.

Brilliant.

Really enjoy your surreal work. This one in particular caught my attention. I'm not entirely sure why though. I really enjoy your cleaver use of the subject, the expression on his face. It really conveys a lot on meaning. The placard spells out the obvious. Really great work.
