The contrast of red and green works really well to the advantage of the success of this painting. Opposite, monotone colours with the rendered and outlined features are two great things to put together. I don't know exactly why, but I love this painting and its surreal shadows. I feel as if the heart is somewhat typical; however, I am trying to look beyond that fact because this work is fantastic despite it and partly because it is a heart being looked at. Thank you for letting me look at it.
