Description
So this is my third mechanical Flash/Memory key & probably, in my opinion, my most successful so far.It has however taken an age to finish (approx 10-12 hours) mainly due to the detail and having to harvest the pieces from the watches myself - I think I probably used parts from around 6 different pocket watches (from brand new ones to watches over 100 years old). The key is made out of purple heart & has approximately 26 Ruby's which look great when the key catches the light, & when the Keys plugged into a USB, it glows green from underneath the gears giving the key a good sense of movement.
Please note the gears on this key do not actually move.
This piece has sold but I have others available in my shop or can be ordered on commission.

hey, i noticed this is already sold on etsy, but my fiance really, really likes it. If you dont mind doing a bit of custom work i'd like to hear what you'd want for a similar piece, i don't mind paying in trade either (i make tooling as well, i just don't post it on here because chisels and hammers are boring)
look forward to hearing from you,
-Liam

It's sad that they're taken from watches. I did see where you talked to someone about it, though. It's still sad that the watches didn't work. ^_^" They're such beautiful parts and it's nice that you can use them. If I had a working old watch, though, I could probably break it trying to watch it move, so that'd be worse.
Have you ever made a watch? That'd be a neat thing to use the parts for if it would work right.

As pretty as that is, you are a sick, souless bastard with a whore mother for butchering any century old watch.
Nice flashdrive, but I hope you rot in hell.

You're obviously under the misconception that I take working century old movements apart.
Anyone who follows my work will tell you ALL my art pieces are made from recycled materials. The wood is from diseased trees that have to be cut down and the watch parts from movements that are broken.
As for hell... I'll see you there

Gears can be replaced. Movements repaired. There is no such thing as a watch that cannot be fixed. There is only "melted pile of metal" and "in between fuctional period".

So your a Horologist/watch/clock maker then? It's good to meet you as there aren't that many of us around. I've been working with watch/clock mechanisms for many years now, including designing and making my own mechanism from scratch. I can assure you that despite your belief that I 'destroy' beautiful antique movements, I do have a good understanding of what is irreparable and what can be fixed, & rather than destroying those parts I recycle them, and try to turn them into something beautiful for the remainder of their life.
Critique is always welcome on my work, and I really don't mind if your not a fan of what I do. I could have respected you & your opinion if your original message had been constructive, instead you came across as rude.

These keys are amazing. I'd love to know how much you charge for them (roughly of course, all of them would be different I'm sure).
Incredible work, and I can't wait to see more!
