Description
Well, for me this is as normal as it gets. In fact, the wood is more interesting than the piece itself! The Yew in this side table was actually from one of the original yew trees in the grounds of Lincoln Cathedral, UK. It was cut down in 2004 as the trees had become dangerous & were due to be replaced with younger stock. Despite its rather 'Normal' appearance, the table was still fun to produce - it was a Christmas present for my partner parents. The one area of the table is of interest is the top, made out of a single piece of 3/4" stock with one large void and several much smaller voids. I chose to actually keep the voids but inlay plexi-glass into the voids to give the top a 'geographical' appearance, with the glassy areas representing water and the curly grain representing landforms. It actually worked rather well - Although the pictures don't really do it much justice as they where taken incredibly 'last minute', in fact just after I delivered it!If you like my work, why not join my Facebook here [link]

This is stunning! Truly unique. You have a very good eye for the unusual, while keeping the natural beauty of the wood itself. A great partnership.

I really like this! The voids in the wood add a lot of visual interest to the piece. You're very talented! Great job!
