That's a really nice design. All kinds of changes from the toy or cartoon, yet still recognisably Metroplex. He looks a lot more cohesive, too, and the assorted grilles and meshes work well.

This has really blown me away!
I am very impressed to see the transition you have made from redesigning G1 Metroplex to a even more futuristic city robot.
I can almost picture this being shown in a comic or cartoon with it's amazing design and detailed features which I really like how you've done this.
I want to say a sincere thank you for crediting me and also to Veronica aka 100SeedlessPenguins who providing her own style and respect to the G1 character and my references and to you for creating a brilliant looking 3D design of Metroplex!

Hello Mr. badnugly,
You are very welcome for such talented work it deserves a praise well done.
My pleasure, I was happy and surprised to know someone like you used my reference sheets. Also glad to hear you also had used Veronica's references because you 2 have a similar 3D style which is great.
That makes you my new best friend! I'm happy to know your favourite animated movie is the G1 movie and it sure is a nostalgic feeling.
I hope you do because I will watch from this day now! and your welcome once again!

Mr Nuggles , that is seriously badass ! totally love the style you made . detaching the ear cannons so they can rotate and making the thighs bigger - that's just prime ! how did you round the edges so well ? i use Fillet on a Cube before i cut it but that means only my outside lines will be rounded . but it looks like some of your inside edges are rounded too .. ?? a V-Ray render is going to be awesome

Ms V, i'm glad that you like it .
this serious badass need some ass kicking to do. will you gladly volunteer one of your bot as a potential victim ...hehe
the bigger thighs are actually based on one of the photos that you gave me. its a pity that that the photo doesn't show the full legs. so i have to made up the rest.
to make the inside lines rounded, i used a NON-fillet box. shape it to whatever shape you want. apply a hypernurb to it. and do the edge cutting. feel free to shoot me any questions about this if you have any.
i am now cleaning up my scene file and will give it to you asap.

i'll clean and zip my Metroplex this weekend and Note you a link to download it it will be funny to make them fight
what do you mean by "edge cutting" ? don't HyperNURBS require a lot of computer resources ?

here's a [link] of an image that i made.
hopefully it will help and easier to understand.
use the Knife Tool in the Loop mode.
yes , hypernurbs are definitely not for low poly models.
mine is more than 400k. but can make things look more organic especially the head.
happy trying..

thank you ! i think i understand now . there should just be a simple tool that helps you curve edges
my computer becomes grumpy near 200K
