Thanky! And I Love that question! :3 I am not too good at explaining things, but I will link some pictures, and hopefully one day I will post an official tutorial.
For making a 3d shape plushie you will want to sculpt your shape out of modeling clay , or paper , like I used for my narwhal .
Then you will mark in the clay where you want your seams and darts to be. I look at other plushies and I think about where they would be less noticeable.
Then you will cover each part you marked separately with duct tape , washi, or masking tape until it looks like a mummy. Cut and peel each part off and trace it onto paper, smoothing any rough edges from the original tape piece.
Some good plush fabrics are minky and fleece. Minky is a little more, but it looks way nicer, and it doesn't look worn so quickly. You might also see it being called "velboa."
