You know I wondered about that while watching the movie, I mean, what if the person is a mute?

I know right? I mean she won't be able to use her powers on the person.
They need to make a sequel just so we can see how she'll handle it XP

Why are practically most horror characters white? (Only the ones from America.)

This movie bugged me on one thing *spoiler*
she wasn't innocent. Its like Freddy Kruegar; on what ground do they have the right to come back and kill or torment the living? Yeah the Justice system didn't execute them, but they were still guilty of their murderous crimes. Its an odd trope that comes up so often in horror movies.

Bakhtak In reply to Rhuen1 [2018-01-03 23:21:29 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I agree it's one of the classic cliché plots in horror movies:
"Someone you're related to killed me so now I'll come and kill you."
But still a good movie though.

They are villains. Villains don't always need a tragic backstory to justify their actions (Granted Freddy actually has a pretty tragic backstory but still..)

"Vengeful spirits"
They are written as "vengeful spirits", those who have been wronged in life so return from the grave to seek vengeance.
Sadako Yamamura was killed by her step-father (in Ringu) by being thrown down a well where her powers kept her alive and suffering for decades, the spirit we see in the movie is a manifestation of her anger.
Kayako and Toshi, were murdered by her husband and the son drowned with the cat because he thought she was having an affair. Her anger and resentment cursed the house with Onryo in their likeness.
Freddy Kruegar was a child molester and murderer who got off on a technicality so a mob hunted him down and burned him to death.
Mary Shaw murdered children, while the cops found no evidence and a mob killed her, the movie played it that was a vengeful spirit wronged in life; but TWIST ending, she actually was a child murderer and thus her death justified.
They aren't villains in the sense of The Joker or Lex Luthor or something, or inherently supernatural monsters like Dracula or Pennywise. Heck Candy Man makes more sense...even if like so many he still goes after the wrong people anyway.
It is a silly horror movie trope, that evil bastards in life unlike their victims somehow come back as evil super powers...although logically if anyone can become a ghost because they were killed in a traumatic fashion than the victims of said ghost would also be being killed in a traumatic fashion and said ghosts should quickly be out numbering the murder's ghost.

You....you like to "review" movies don't you? Probably tell people what and what not to watch right?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Rhuen1 In reply to BloodySimpsonChibi [2018-01-01 02:51:55 +0000 UTC]
I don't TELL people what to watch and what not to watch. I like to analyze things yes.
But your tone is defensive here. Especially with the quotes and the phrasing. If you don't mean that fine, but otherwise I don't see why you'd be defensive.
Its a trope, a silly trope, I pointed out its a trope, nothing was directed at you, so you have no reason to react with any hostility.
